I am going through a process through garnishment of my check from lvnv funding on an account 5 years old. Hosto blah blah blah are the ones handling the case. My son had supposedly signed last year a form showing suite, never saw it. Never received a letter that a judgement had been awarded. Week before Thanksgiving I get a writ of garnishment. I wrote a response to the saline county court and to Hosto. The next Wed I was paid with $740 taken out of my check. I called Hosto and the girl sent me a financial statement form which the following Monday I faxed them. She said they would look at it to see if they could reduce the amount coming out. I live pay check to pay check as most of you all do. I called this past Monday and they said LVNV had denied any decrease when I proved I spend pretty much all of the money I make on survival. I called LVNV and they said no the attorneys decide how much is taken out. Well, I have tried numrerous times to talk to Hosto and get the run around Plus Monday I got home and I had a letter from Hosto from Jennifer Janis one of their attorneys for admission, interrogatories etc. I have tried all week to talk to her. Then yestereday I get a form they sent to the court stating they had received the interrogatories etc and that $740 a week would be taken from my check. First off, this account was from Texaco. Sent to DEBT settlement usa in October 2005 with someother accounts that are paid off. The amount in November, 2005 was $940.00 On the copy I have of the original form they sent for the suit it stated I owed $1250 or so dollars. Now with this Garnishment it is over $1600 with the fees I owe Over $1900. I is a known fact that LVNV buys these accounts for pennies on the dollars. Hosto is just another piece of the puzzle that fu**s people. I am sorry to use such English, but I feel like I have been raped. And what is this sending all of the stuff that should have been filled out prior to the garnishment and awarding a judgement. It is taking all I have in savings to keep afloat. Today they took out over $600. I have no money for an attorney but I swear to the good Lord above, I hope these people can't sleep at n ight for how they screw people. Either that or they have no moral values or moral compass. They are evil evil evil people. I know that I will be ok. No savings but ok. If I could hire a lawyer I think I could win the case. Anyone interested in a lawyer who could work pro bono I think is the term. God help us all
