Home Savings of America Dishonest closing charges Little Falls, Internet |

Email I wrote to the the original person who initiated the loan. Mark, Im writing this email to tell you how very disappointed I am with the way my loan was handled. On the day of closing Brian Kelly sent the papers to my home email address instead of my work address. I could not see the document, as our company blocks home e-mails being viewed. In those documents were all the charges that I never saw, because when I approved the good faith estimate on line, after the last question it disappeared. Thinking that Brian would go over the closing cost I never thought to ask for a copy and was told it was not a binding agreement. Monday night came and I was sitting across from the lawyer and he handed me a piece of paper that stated I owed $226 and change for closing. I managed to get a hold of Brian and he told me that when he emailed the closing paperwork I said nothing so he thought I was ok with the charges. I could not say anything because I hadnt seen them, I was at work. I was not happy at all. I also asked him about the appraisal fee being taken off the closing charges and he said he couldnt do that it was illegal. So now Im out $385. Kevin Phillipson was the person who to me that if would be taken off at settlement. I did not get the appraisal fee back as promised. I now have $6,000 in closing costs added to my mortgage, which I think is way too high. In the future I would suggest that your company not tell people that they will receive appraisal fee back and also go over the closing paperwork before the actual closing. I understand from the lawyer that they were done 48 hours prior to closing and I could have seen them. Im angry that your company wasnt upfront with the charges, I know I would have been happier knowing before settlement, even though I believe they are way too high and I probably would have gone elsewhere, if I had seen the good faith estimate. Its as if you have something to hide, like $6000 in closing cost that if they were told might go elsewhere and get them cheaper. I know I would have. I know I could have stopped the deal on Monday, but it was too late to start over and be done by the end of July. I will forever be angry with you and the people you work for, as I believe you are dishonest people to do business with. And I thought better of you Mark, I thought you were an honest person, obviously, I was mistaken. I have written to your corporate office and mentioned all three of your name, so that this will not happen to anyone else and will never recommended anyone to do business with you.
