I ordered a battery pack replacement for my DeWalt drill from HomeDepot.com on January 8, 2010. Today January 16, 2011 I decided to start looking for the item as I have not received yet. We live in a Condo community and decided to knock on our neighbors doors and ask if they mistakenly received an item from UPS under my name. I also looked around the snow outside our unit in case it was delivered but got buried from the recent snow storms, all to no avail. Then I visited the status order on homedepot.com followed by the UPS website to track the item. To my complete surprise the UPS website said the item was delivered. So I decided to call HomeDepot.com to try and find out what happened. I could not believe the cold shoulder I got from this guy. Initially when he answered my call he was kind of nice, however after he put me on hold the first time and he came back he was a complete ass. I kept telling him I never received the product and he would not believe me. He believed UPS who was telling him they delivered the item (which did not require a signature so they just left it there). I have been ordering items online all the time for years even items more expensive than this battery (from newegg motherboards, memory sticks, hard drives and many more computer items and UPS always leaves them outside my door) and they have never been stolen. Basically the guys on the phone told me there is nothing they can do about it, so I loose my $70.36 for this item and the only thing I can do is dispute the $ amount with my credit card and file a police report for the lost item. I asked them many times to check with UPS tomorrow Monday to make sure the driver delivered it to the right unit (as they claim the shipping label on the box did carry the right address and unit number). What kind of losers are these people? They believe UPS who simply says they delivered it (and there is no way in hell it got lost somewhere, or the address was printed incorrectly on the label or the driver mistakenly dropped it off at the wrong door) and not the customer.How can you believe a cheap crappy delivery system that doesn't require the persons signature? My point is there is definitely more HomeDepot.com can do to help me out on this instead of leaving me hanging and saying "sir we shipped it out with UPS and according to them it was delivered, whether you got the item or not that is an issue you need to take up with UPS". Doesn't UPS get hired by a vendor to be one of their carriers? Isn't this an issue that HomeDepot.com (the UPS customer) needs to resolve with UPS to prevent HomeDepot.com from ripping off and loosing customers? This is crap! I can't believe HomeDepot.com along with UPS are giving me the run around and ripping me off my money. Granted $70.36 might not be much for some, but it is a matter of principal. How many people like me get ripped off this way? Sounds like they are making a killing from scams like this.
