I purchase"Total Home Plan" warrenty from this company back in October 2010. On March 31st, I contacted the company and reported problem with my AC. Next day, their serviceman test the unit and found out that the condensor needs to be replaced. Then he walked outside of the house and contacted the Home Choice with the issue. In a few minutes, I received a call from them saying that since the unit is too old and rusty, they will not cover it under the plan! I was very surprised with their decision since majority of the home owners don't own a new home. I own my house for the past seven years and my unit was working perfectly fine. What's the reason to buy protectrion plan if is not covered? Why they did not inspect before selling their plan? I wasted over $200 thus far for paying on the premium plus $65 for the service call. How come they like to collect premiums but they don't perform service they're trying so hard to sell? |

Yikes, this sounds exactly like what I'm going through right now with Home Choice "Total Home Plan" - I called their claims department on a Monday with my Central AC problem and never received a confirmation or order number for reference. When I did not hear from anyone by the 2nd day, I called again to find out what local company would be contacting me so that I could expect their call. I was asked for my information all over again as if they had no record of my original call and consequently, no one has been assigned to come out and check my AC. It wasn't until Friday of that week that tech from a local AC company came out to check my AC. Five more days have now passed and I've placed calls to the local AC company, the Home Choice Claims Dept and the Home Choice Sales Dept requesting status of my AC repair and have left msgs for someone to call me back. On two different occasions that I called Home Choice, a recording came on stating repeatedly that average waiting time is "4 minutes" - both times I hung up after '"30" minutes of waiting.

I live in New Jersey and bought a "TOTAL HOME PLAN" through HOME CHOICE PLANS aka MYHOMECHOICEPLANS.COM. What has become very obvious to me in the last HOME CHOICE PLANS aka MYHOMECHOICEPLANS.COM is a complete scam and a totally fraudulent operation. Not only did they collect my premium, they actually sent me a reimbursement check for plumbing work that was done that I paid for that BOUNCED. Yes, you got that right, HOME CHOICE PLANS aka MYHOMECHOICEPLANS.COM actually BOUNCED a check to me. According to the bank, the check was returned unpaid due to insufficient funds in the account. Do you really want to work with a HOME WARRANTY company that does not have enough money it its account to pay a $340 claim? I am still waiting for them to send a new check. It has been two months. After that, I filed a claim for our bathtub jets that stopped working. At first, PAUL HARRIS, the representative at HOME CHOICE PLANS aka MYHOMECHOICEPLANS.COM, tried to claim the company doesn't cover the jets unless the brand of bathtub is made by Whirlpool (yes, he actually tried to claim they only cover one brand!!!), but when I called him out on it and pointed out the language in the contract didn't support what he was telling me, he finally admitted he had made a "mistake" and offered to call in a service rep. I paid the rep $65 -- the guy said he needed a replacement part and would come back to do the installation after he was paid by HOME CHOICE PLANS aka MYHOMECHOICEPLANS.COM. Well, guess what, the service rep was never paid by HOME CHOICE PLANS aka MYHOMECHOICEPLANS.COM. This whole operation is a complete FRAUD and SCAM. I am going to be contacting my credit card company to do a chargeback for this service, I am going to be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report these guys, and I am going to be contacting a lawyer as I firmly believe this company needs to be subjected to a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. Whatever you do, do NOT sign up for new service with HOME CHOICE PLANS aka MYHOMECHOICEPLANS.COM. |

Same thing is happening to me with my A/C system. Total Home Plan (AKA: Home Assure Plans) I have been waiting over a month to get my A/C fixed. The 1st A/C sub said I would have to pay up front for the work and get my
money back from Home Assure. The $65 Co-Pay was not going to cut it. So the sub left and did no work. The next A/C sub came over and specified the work that was needed and the Claims Dept at Home Assure said my policy would only cover up to $250 since my system was 10 years old, . $250 would nowhere near fix my A/C problem. So I voiced my upset. When I purchased the policy the salesman ASSURED me that my A/C system would be fully covered if it went down. The A/C was a special add on with extra expense which I dearly paid. The salesman was fully aware that my home was a new build that was 10 years old. Finally with much push with the claims manager, he reluctantly agreed to fix my A/C, however, there was another problem in my A/C system that needed approval before the they could fix the A/C problem (more delay and dropping the ball) A/C company #2 has heard nothing from Home Assure for over a week. I sit here sweating and wondering why I chose Home Assure in the 1st play. Help! Another thing: Rarely, at Home Assure do they returns calls, it is an endless waste of time trying get things done with them, it is possibly the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Being un-ethical and bad seems to be what they do best.. Over a month now trying to get Home Assure to fix my A/C system and I still wait? Is there no justice for such a SCAM! |

Same as everyone else plus some new excuse form Home Choice, aka...many names. National Service Network... blah blah. I bought a plan form Home Choice, then the paperwork said Home Assure but billed as another company doing business as another...
Home Choice aka National Service Network says the Home Assure or other people did not pay them. I paid Home Choice which was then changed to Home Assure and now they say I will hear from attorneys after doing what they have done to everyone else. Screwing people and contractors who want to help. They cannot provide me with any names or addresses...just say to wait for them to contact me. They never call back as they say they will...ever!!! I have some names like Gerome Maldanado who they say is the CEO. Paul Harris, Augusto Stevens and more! Sales... Mike Lowensten..not exactly sure on spelling. I have just become another statistic in the Home Assure Service Plan. I would love to be part of a class action suit against this company. On Saturday, the 25th of June, in the early morning hours our hotwater heater went out, burning the wires and flooding my floor. At 8am central time, we called Home Assure and gave them all our information and were told someone would call to set up an appointment to come out. Hours later we got a call from a company we will leave unnamed, FOR NOW, that said they received a call for service from Home Assure but they would not be able to come out because Home Assure has problems getting payments to them after service is done. I told the man what our problem was and he said if they would pay him by credit card up front he would be more than happy to do the work. So his office and my husband and I started calling to get approval for the work needed and a replacement waterheater. That was Saturday. Monday, Home Assure told us they had to have an invoice with all the required information listed and as soon as it was received they would expedite credit card payment that day. Fax was sent and information was received and verified by AUGUSTO STEVENS. AUGUSTO STEVENS said he would rush this through personally. Didn't happen. We called back and were told by AUGUSTO STEVENS that his boss, PAUL HARRIS, was out but he would have Mr. Harris' boss, JOEL MALDONADO, (not Gerome, because I asked if I had been mistaken on his first name and told no, it was Joel) would be calling us back shortly. Didn't happen. Tuesday, AUGUSTO STEVENS told us that according to their "POLICY" once the invoice was received it would take up to 48 hours to be sent for approval. Approval that we and the plumbing company had already been told was given on Saturday. I requested PAUL HARRIS, in one of the near 20 calls we had been placing, but we never did get to speak to him nor was I allowed to speak to JOEL MALDONADO. Wednesday, when I reminded AUGUSTO STEVENS that he told me this would be paid at the latest on Tuesday, he began another dance around truths. Then he asked me for information again that he already had, serial number and make of unit, so he could call the manufactor of it for verification. I was LIVID. After literally spending 3 hours on hold and being hung up on REPEATEDLY and even being transferred to another customer, just as mad as I was, AUGUSTO STEVENS told me they were not going to pay on this because it was : CAUSED BY A 3RD PARTY FACTOR, AND IT HAD AGE LIMITATIONS, so all he would do is send us $150.00 towards the waterheater because he RE-EVALUATED IT. They had been sent a bill for close to $800.00 to do the repair, replacement and installation and given approval for it. This is 5 days after they approved the work!!! We asked them to pay Lowes for a waterheater and we would go pick it up and do the work ourselves for nothing and they said no. They did offer for us to pay for the Plumbing company to do it and Home Assure reimburse us with a check but I had already seen where Home Assure paid that person with a BAD CHECK so I said no way. The new CEO for Home Assure is JOHN GIBBS, according to AUGUSTO STEVENS. My husband told AUGUSTO STEVENS he wanted a refund on our policy and was told by AUGUSTO STEVENS, he didn't do that and "GOOD LUCK" with legal action. This is a scam on us all and we need to act on it.
Texas State Attorney General stated, Home Assure is bound by the laws where each person purchased their policy. NOT FLORIDA, unless you live there. In Texas, go to: www.License.State.TX.US and submit a complaint form to them. They have to have a complaint form from each person to act on each persons case. Each State has a Department Of Licensing and Regulations that Home Assure will have to be accountable to. I believe a Class Action Lawsuit is necessary here. |

UPDATE: My husband just call Rheem, the company that made our Hot Water Heater. They said AUGUSTO STEVENS had not called them about our Hot Water Heater because each time a call is made and the serial number is accessed, it automatically becomes part of a permanent file for that unit!!! My husband was the first person to ever call on our unit. ALSO>> They said from the description given to him, Rheem recommends replacing the unit. |

On July 3rd I had an emergency with my A/C unit, not bearable in Texas heat. Filed 4 claims and called time after time. No One EVER responded to me ever.
I am still getting the run around.
PLEASE contact me I will be more than glad to file anything this is a huge SCAM!!!
I filed a complaint with the better business of zip code listed on my paperwork.

Same Deal- Same thing happened to me with My Home Choice Plans - These guys are unethical and rip off Artists --- definite scammers-- I wonder if their AC breaks down and they get the run around in life- or what JUDGEMENT will bring them because it is like the whole company knows they are blatantly ripping people off - Jesus says bless your enemies - those who do you wrong - (What??? This is been horrifyingly time consuming and frustrating) I am still waiting on money owed to me "opps Paul Harris didn't send it" after all like he SAID - But this time for sure the check will be in the mail... (outside reimbursement)

I have never in my life seen such a horrible company- Lies every angle; they hang up on you; put you on hold; 30 mins later hang up on you; apologize when you call Always; say the perfect lie again - and the cycle begins again- you wait to find out youve been lied to- call - get hung up on after waiting ; call back; they sorry; get put on home; get hung up on; get an apology; and then an answer that seems logical; ALMOST AS IF THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IT - til you find out it was some sort of lie-
I fought 1 week with this company - who sent out a tech; the tech diagnosed the prob but was forced to walk off set bc MY HOME CHOICE would not give them verification on financial info that they requested -- bottom line the AC company would not work with the warranty company - because they were not guaranteed payment -
It took a week to find that out ; after supposed "wrong email address " issues -
THESE GUYS ARE SLICK- AND ALWAYS SAY THE PERFECT THING !

I have the same problems with them. This company is very unethical. I had a service man come for my A/c and without even looking at the unit he told me that the charge for servicing and cleaning it would be about 400.00. He didn't even look at it. I called my own service man to check out the Ac and it cost me less then 125.00 for a complete clean up. I reported the first serviceman to the warranty company and all they did was say it shouldn't have happened. The next time I called them for my pool equipment. They sent their man and once again I paid the 65.00 fee. He said we needed a new pool motor because ours could not be repaired. After numerous phone calls to try to get somewhere with an employee they said they could only give us 150.00 towards a pool motor. We would have to pay the difference. When the service man came with a new motor he told us that we also needed a new pump. After many many more phone calls to get this information across, the Home Assure/ Home Choice said that they would not pay because it's a different part and all they would give us is the initial 150.00...I BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL BE GOING UNDER A NEW COMPANY NAME PRIME SOMETHING OR OTHER. They have been calling me to get me to go under the new and "improved " plan.
We have paid their premiums for a few years and that was wasted money. They did not fix or replace what we needed done. They are modern day bandits. I think they should be in jail for stealing people's money and giving them a sense of fake security. If anyone wants to begin a class action suit I'm in.

okay this company is like one of the best company out there !! but when it comes to getting the technician paid is a huge time frame for payment to get done they work fast getting and so call home choice haves best customer service phone line . Augusto Stevens excellent and Paul Harris great and Justin real nice guy they are actually the best customer services representatives i ever experience. they are quick to response listen carefully and try to help as much as they can how ever the accounting department they SUCK!!! they make the home choice warranted look bad if you ask me i think these guys wait to generate money in order to pay the tech. |

if this helps, the reason why you all had issues with language barriers and could never get anyone o the phone for claims, is because i came to find out that their claims call center IS NOT EVEN IN THE USA! It is somewhere in the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. How can they help if the claims agent cant even speak english! After dealing with home choice i found that dealing with an agent versus an company is much more secure. They don't just stick it to homeowners, they take homeowners $ and send out a "sucker" contractor to do the work so that the homeowner is "happy" and NEVER pay the contractor for their work. I have been chasing my $ for months and I am the sucker contractor that did work and never got paid for my services. These people need to be stopped. How can THIS behavior keep going on? How do THEY sleep at night or even look in the mirror!
No one should do business them them ever--they work harder at scamming and not working then putting in a HONEST days work! |
