I took my vehicle in for an "estimate only". Hi-Tech Collision and Glass mistakenly began grossly inflated repair work to my vehicle without any written or verbal authorization whatsoever. Upon discovering that repair work was in progress I ordered the work to be stopped. I also immediately notified my insurance company that Hi-Tech had begun repair work to my vehicle without authorization. Being unable to produce any documentation from me or me insurance company authorizing repairs, Hi-Tech then chose to 'lie' rather than accept responsibility for their error. Hi-Tech shamefully concocted 3 different stories about how, when and who 'verbally' authorized them to make repairs. The lying was so blatant their story of receiving verbal authorization changed each time they told it. When I refused to pay for the unauthorized repair work, Hi-Tech refused to release my vehicle. I then filed a lawsuit which eventually got my vehicle released after nearly 5 months. I also filed a complaint with the 'Automotive Consumer Board' which I was told resulted in Hi-Tech being cited for several violations related to my dealings with them. Save yourself a headache and don't deal with them. The Hi-Tech manager is a dishonest and self serving moron who thinks nothing of covering up mistakes by lying. Hopefully AAA will remove them from their vendor list! Hi-Tech Collision and Glass has shown that they are completely dishonest and will go to any extreme to cover up questionable dealings when caught.
