Today I received a call from a guy who claimed himself to be from 'Windows Service Centre' and stated that I have problems in my computer. To be honest yes I have been facing troubles with my computer and thus I believed in what he was saying! He said my computer is affected by virus and my PC is going to crash!!! I became worried and asked him what i could do to prevent this, to save my computer from the loss. He asked me to go to a website www.ammyy.com and took access of my computer and showed me the so called 'virus', 'junk files' etc. When I asked how would I clean these up, he asked me to purchase a package of $150, and I did!!!! Silly me! I purchased the package from my paypal account and they downloaded another website something called Team Viewer. And said the technician would work on my PC so I should leave it. Yes, my PC was cleaned up and I am suspicious I have nothing left now!!! They have accessed all my files, folders and God knows what else!! They have got all my credit card details too!! Ah! I have filed a case from my paypal account i.e. charge back and I will not be convinced anyway. I would request you not to be fooled like the way I was being fooled by this company! I wonder if they are calling me from Microsoft then why their domain names are different? Why not @Microsoft.com or something similar? Did you ever look at the paypal mail? I am going to read the mail once again with the details of my purchase, that one includes their original mail ID and I will post it here shortly after I get all the reuired details.

Yesterday I received a call from this company stating they were Windows Service Center. They logged into my computer and showed me all the things that were wrong. Well dumb me my computer has been acting up so I let them talk me into paying $110.00 for Micro Trend and for 1 time fix it. What a scam my computer is worse and when I look at Micro Trend it runs just over $40.00.

I have contacted my credit card company and have emailed customer support on the bill I received hope I can get this stopped.

The phone # they gave me if I had any problems 866-662-2747 is not a working number.

This number is working because I have myself many times and it rang. It might be an Indian company, that doesn't matter but they provided me support and even told me that if I am not satisfied they will carry out the refund. A scammer would never do this.

Why would they charge more than the original company does? Moreover, Microsoft itself has warned not to believe in any such phone calls!!! If possible check in Microsoft website and you would find the same! At least I don't believe in anyone else but Microsoft.

They have said they are from US!! Why would they lie? They are definitely a scam. If not why they are not refunding my $75 when I asked? The lady on the phone was so rude. She was shouting on me when I asked for the refund. The trick was they asked me to open my email and then created a message. Finally they asked me to send it back to them! Why would they need me to send this? They are 100% scam!!

I too recieved a phone call this morning telling me that my computer was affected by a deadly virus. She said that she was calling from Windows Service Center, and that Windows had been notified through the Windows Global Networking System that my computer had a bad virus. I was having issues with my computer being slow, but was told by a computer tech, that it was because my memory usage is too high. She informed me that, that was not why my computer was so slow. It was a virus and she could fix it for me, if I clicked on the green button on their website, ammyy.com (which I wasn't sure because it should have been a windows website). She said that she could help, if I didn't do anything, my computer would crash within 5 hours. She told me to go to ammyy.com and let her take over and show me the virus. I asked why she couldn't tell me where to click so that I could see the virus' before letting her take over, I don't recall what she rambled off. I told her that I was sceptical about letting her log into my computer and take over. She offered to give me her number and I could call her back if I felt better about that. She reassured me time and time again that she worked for Windows and I had nothing to worry about. I decided to take her up on getting her number and calling her back. She gave me 866-662-2747, and that her name was Rachel (that was also a give away that she was lying, She clearly was not from America). I did some research and yes, the number is not a working number. I am so glad that I decided to look up this information before moving forward and greatful for websites like these, that allow you know about the criminals that are trying to scam you!

I just got a call from a lady named Alicia that also me that my computer at this time was downloading a virus. I was already suspicious as the number came up on my caller ID as 419. She said she was calling from a company called Helpdesk4pc. I was just on my computer for quite some time and knew there was no way it could be downloading anything. I asked the lady for a phone number so I could check out her info and call her back. The number she gave to me after I looked up the company turned out to be a talk live hotline for 3.99 a minute. Thanks to people posting how this company is a scam I saved my family money and hassle. I hope this helps inform others to this SCAM!
