We were contacted by Heart Scan America, in January, 2011 to have a heart scan. I had been concerned for my husband who has several family members with heart issues, so thought this was a good opportunity. We made an appointment. We actually cancelled our appointment twice, but on March 13, 2011, my husband and I did participated in a heart and full-body scan in Washington DC. The company tried to sell us a 10 year plan for over $5000.00, which thankfully, we declined. The cost for my husband's heart scan, and my full-body scan was $600.00. We waited nervously, but patiently for the results, which never came. I decided to contact them and let them know we had not received the reports, nor had our doctors received anything from them, as promised. To my disbelief, the phone number was no longer in service. So, I tried to see if they had a new number on their website, but the website no longer existed. We have not heard from this company in any way. I understand through research on my own that the state of CO sued them for malpractice, and they have closed their doors. They have also been active in NY and NV. Apparently, they are in Chapter 11. I don't know if we'll recover our money, but wanted to warn other consumers of this terrible scam.
