Harbor Frieight Tools False Advertising and Intentional Deception Austin, Texas
23rd of Mar, 2011 by User941420
Harbor Freight in Austin, TX on South Lamar intentionally false advertises free merchandise with a purchase. This is not a one time thing. It has to be a company policy. Iit has happened to me personally the last four times I have attempted to buy from an ad to get a free item. Each time they are "temporarily out of the item" or "its on order." The last time I was there, 3-24-11, I asked a clerk to show me that the items were on order. He finally admitted none were coming in. When I asked for a substitute they were all out of those, also. The entire scheme is to increase traffic in the store. They have some good prices on tools but do not believe the ads. Blatant false advertising. I have sent a letter to the Texas State Assistant Attorney General for Consumer Affairs. I hope he comes down hard on this scumbag California company.
