Consumers be warned about purchasing a car from Hamilton Nissan. When we originally purchased our car from Hamilton Nissan we were quoted a price and received that quote in writing. When we came to do the deal, they tried to hike the final price up by $1,500-2,000. They agreed that they were in the wrong and honored the price quoted. They have damaged my car on numerous occasions and do not value their consumers. I was advised by their service manager, Rick Manring, that the owner, Derek Hamilton, does not provide the white glove treatment to his customers nor does he need to. They also do not honor their dealership for life contract- free oil changes, tire rotation, etc. I was advised by the service manager that Derek Hamilton was the owner and could do whatever he wanted. This was as a direct result of damages that the dealership created to my vehicle and became frustrated with because they had to repair the damages. Please keep in mind that I have a signed dealership fir life contract and an extended warranty on the vehicle. The vehicle had to be taken back to the dealership on different occasions because the oil drain plug was not tightened properly. They had to replace numerous pieces in the vehicle. They damaged the alloy on all of my wheels during an oil change and had to replace the wheels. Their car wash nearly ripped my license plate off and pulled the molding off of my sunroof visor. They broke my driver's side seat when replacing leather that had prematurely cracked. The made some minor scratches to the interior when working on the car. I am on a 3rd set of brakes at 52,000 miles. Have had to replace the tires prematurely. When I was advised that Derek Hamilton made the comment that he would not provide a white glove experience for his customers, that is when I realized how poor that business was being run. I would highly recommend that consumers consider other alternatives before purchasing a car from Hamilton Nissan in Hagerstown Maryland. |

Wow, I am so sorry to hear that I am not the only one getting treated so badly by Derek Hamilton right now! I am the proud owner of a brand new 30 day old 2011 Nissan Altima which leaks behind the glovebox when I take it through a carwansh. Derek Hamiltons idea of "dealer for life" treatment is to tell me not to go to that type of carwash anymore! I am apparently supposed to ride across town to a low pressure wash or use a garden hose because my 2011 Altima is not watertight. I will guess his childrens feet are not getting wet in his car and the ink is dry on my check now so nobody at Hamilton Nissan cares to go to take my car back to the same carwash though they agreed they see water leakage in the interior of the car. I have found a similar scenario on nissanhelp.com where another Nissan buyer finally convinced a lazy owner to go through a carwash and they discovered a faulty windshield seal from the factory in a 2007 Altima. As the writer noted above..dealer for life is a total joke. they were not even committed to ensuring satisfaction for 30 days on a brand new vehicle. God help you if you dare to purchase a used vehicle from the likes of this outfit! My suggestion would be to travel to Frederick or Chambersburg to purchase a Nissan. I am a repeat Hamilton and Nissan customer. Something has changed there...horrible, horrible experience...nothing at all like my Xterra purchase from them! It was even difficult to get hold of this guy. He never seems to be there...not in yet when you call at 8:30am and already gone for the day when you call at 5pm. |
