I purchased invalid tickets using their website. It was embarrassing
trying to use them at the theater. I was told that Halfcosttix.com was a fraudulent website based in Sweden and that the tickets are invalid.
They use Fandango to send you the tickets. Halfcosttix has NO CUSTOMER
SERVICE and Fandango WILL NOT HELP YOU if you happen to have a problem. I read many comments online that they illegally use someone else's
credit card to pay Fandango full price and charge you half price +
"Service Fee" for their profit. ON THE HOMEPAGE IT TELLS YOU NOT TO SHOW YOUR CREDIT CARD IF ASKED FOR ONE... ^^ THIS IS WHY.

I have had only positive experience with this company. I have used them 3 times, the most recent one today for the midnight show of Green Lantern at my local theater. Each time, it worked fine. This last time, I was able to pay using an Amazon gift card, emailed to them. I think the first and the second time, I might have used a credit card. as far as I know, they did not scam my credit card. I have read rumors elsewhere that they scam some people's credit cards and then use that to purchase tickets from Fandango. But I have seen NO evidence of that. Anyone can claim anything on the internet (including, I suppose this very comment).
My experience has been I have saved approximately $16 on 6 adult tickets, 4 bargain matinees (approx $8 there) and $8 for this midnight show, which was full price 21.50. I paid $12.25 with the Amazon gift card. It might be true that it is too good to be true, and that someone is losing money, but I would need to see some hard evidence of this, not mere complaints.
As for this complaint here, nothing works all the time. I have found they alway respond to emails, and one time when I was concerned that the above complaint would happen, I emailed them and they responded with my confirmation number right away. For what its worth, AMC does not honor their confirmation codes (Says so on their site), but Brenden Theaters always just looks at the number, and prints out the tickets for me. The number tells them which show, which theater, everything, just like it is in their emails.
Sorry for the bad experiences, but does not match mine (and I just read a bunch of positive ones on Twitter. Maybe there really are ripoffs with this company, but again, I have seen no evidence. We need proof, and I can't find it using Google (I have searched a bunch of times), just innuendos, rumors and a few bad experiences. But no evidence of actual ripoff. |

I've used it twice and it was ok. Maybe now I should be checking if my account is being withdrawn for any purchases that I did not make. |

I used tonight for lion king tickets. They proccess credit cards via PayPal, so not sure how they can scam since they do not have access to your cc# |

I have used this site also at least 5 times and have been successful each and every time I have used it! It has saved me tons of money and will continue to use it in the future, I also go thru paypal and do the payment thru that system and that way if there should ever be a problem ( which I seriously doubt!) I can get it handled thru paypal...
I also have compared ticket prices with my friends who have gone to the same 3D movies with their kids and they can't believe how much CHEAPER my tickets were thru this site! It's the only way to go! |
