I hired Haines and Krieger last year 2010 to help me with a loan Modification. I paid them $2000.00 and after they were all paid, they would not answer the phone. I had to go over there to thier office each time I needed to find out what they were doing. Each time I went there they told me to go get a current bank Statement. They said the Lender was continually asking for one each month. After several months went by, I think 10 or 12 months, we got a notice that our house was going up for sale! Then I was contacted by a representative from the VA Home loans. (Thank God we had a VA loan! He asked what kind of problems we were having and offered some advise. I informed the VA rep that I had become disabled shortly after purchasing our home, and that we had hired Haines and Krieger to help us reduce our payment. The VA rep then contacted the lender, the lender called me soon after that. They informed me that they had heard nothing at all from Haines and Krieger except when I first hired them! (so what was all that about providing a new bank statement each month,?!(other than to make me think they were actually working on helping us) Since they never return my phone calls(after they were paid the initial fee) I went over to the office and waited hours again, and finally was sent down the hal to thier Bankrupsy dept. (to stop the sale of our house) There they immediatly extracted $800.00 to start bankrupsy proceedings. I paid them cash, but have the reciet. they gave me all the stuff to fill out for a bankrupsy and sent me away. I never did fill out or sign any agreement with them for the bankrupsy they were trying to create! God loves me, because I got home to find a message from that same VA representative telling me that the lender postponed the sale of the house 60 more days! Then, within a half hour the lender called me, and said they would have no problem granting us a reduction of our interest rate (400.00 cheaper payment)!! I was so happy! I raced back to Haines and Kriegr office to tell them the good news(they had no idea, nor were they happy about that news!) Obviously I no longer needed the bankrupsy, and I never did want to do that anyway. When I asked for my $800.00 back they told me F_NO!!! Now it is 6or7 months later, we survived the Haines and Krieger Fiasco, but it costed us 2800 dollars and they did absolutely nothing for that money. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! The only time they ever called me, or showed concern for me and my wife, was when I had not paid yet!!!
