HAIER AMERICA HAIER AMERICA FRAUD, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE NEW YORK, New York |
15th of Nov, 2010 by User879230 |
We purchased two water coolers, manufactured by Haier America. Within two weeks of use, BOTH water coolers began to profusely leak water out of the "fins" on both sides of the cooler. The entire contents of the five gallon water bottles emptied out onto the kitchen floor and onto the carpeted floor in the office. We attempted to return the coolers to the store they were purchased from, however, due to the fact this was considered a "manufacturing defect", we were told they had to be returned to Haier and dealt with under the warranty Haier offers. We contacted Haier and explained the situation to them. We were told that we had to send them a copy of the receipt, remove the tag from the back of the cooler that contains the serial number and other information, cut off a 12 inch length of the cord including the plug, and a check for $14,95 to cover shipping costs. This had to be done for BOTH coolers. We were not happy about having to pay the shipping costs for both of these coolers since they are covered at 100% under the warranty, but they were sent the money, anyway. They also gave us a "ticker" number to refer to. We were told that we would have our new coolers within two weeks. Unfortunately, they did not tell us WHICH two weeks. Two weeks in the month of May 2009? Two weeks in the month of May 2010? or is it the two weeks in the month of May 2011???? Yes folks...it has been close to TWO YEARS and we have not yet seen a new water cooler! Repeated calls to their "customer service" number have all been the same. "We have to contact CORPORATE to find out what is going on. Someone from CORPORATE will call you back within 48 hours." Again, they didn't say WHICH 48 hours! I have called this customer service number just about every other day and am repeatedly told the same thing. Corporate. Corporate. Corporate. Every time I ask how to get in touch with CORPORATE, i am told that it is only through them, Customer Service, that "CORPORATE" can be contacted. We have also been told that "Corporate" approved the replacement of the cooler and that it will be shipped out by Friday and we should have it in 5-7 "business" days, shipped through UPS. Those 5-7 business days have come and gone several times. They have repeatedly told us that the coolers were shipped out and asked to verify the address, because they were returned to them. After verifying the address, and that it IS CORRECT, the customer service rep's are "baffled" and "dumbfounded" on how they could have been returned because the address IS correct. People, the coolers were NEVER shipped out. That's why!!! We haven't moved. We have checked and rechecked, verified and reverified, with UPS, and they have no records whatsoever of any delivery attempts to us by Haier. So who is telling the lies here? TWO YEARS!!! Enough is enough already. We have contacted several lawyers about this and were advised to report them to the BBB. To commence a lawsuit against them wouldn't be worth the money it would cost, not to mention their being such a huge corporation. We would be a wee number in their world. We just so happened to stumble upon this website and have decided to post this scam here. It was also good to read that we are not the only consumers who have been experiencing the SAME situation with Haier. Perhaps it IS a good time to start a CLASS ACTION SUIT against Haier. Stay away from Haier products, people. Should you have any warranty issues, as you can see from all the other reports filed here, which surely are a scanty few, they are not a trustworthy corporation. Surely there are hundreds, even thousands more consumers who have had problems with Haier and just are not aware of this website. Haier = fraud!!! |
