We used this company to move my senior parents; one has alzheimers and the other has dimentia. They came in; quoted a price of $180. I paid them. They moved the furniture to the truck (one bed; one recliner; one small tv; one tv stand and few others). We booked two hours and would have been done in 1.5 hours; Once the furniture was in the truck they said they needed to call their boss; they then came back and said the cost was $500. Tehy would not unload unless I paid. We were in a state, my mother with progressed alzheimers cannot tolerate a lot of talking or conflict; she was greatly affected by this. I agreed to pay; asked them to take the furniter (next door); not a large move. They refused, I said I would not pay until the job was done as they already had $180. They said they would go there, but I needed to agree to pay. I said I would. We got to the location and they refused to take the stuff off the truck until I paid; I said when the stuff is in the apartment they would get their money. They insisted I pay up now. I called the police; they unloaded the stuff and drove off. If you are in a dispute, call the police - they will come to keep the peace. I have learned, have the contract up front, do the leg work. What they did to me was wrong and I do not want this to happen to anyone else. The police said they have done this before and there is really nothing I can do. Be aware of who you talk to and what you negotiated. A lesson well learned.
