Grand Incentives Incentive travel dates never available Sarasota, Florida |
4th of Mar, 2013 by User254068 |
My wife and I signed up for Ambit Energy and one of the main reasons was the offer for a 3 day 2 night hotel stay and a destination of our choice, choosing from numerous locations. We had to arrange the travel to the hotel but 2 nights stay would be provided. We reviewed the information and finally selected a trip to San Antonio, it is close enough to drive so a weekend stay would be great. We submitted the paperwork with our $50.00 deposit and soon after we noticed our check had been deposited and deducted from our bank account. When we didn't hear from them I called to check the status of our voucher and was told that they had sent an email advising us that the days we selected were unavailable. There was also a reminder note that EVERY location outside the state of Florida require a Sunday - Wednesday CHECK-IN. I never saw, nor were we informed of this, that requirement in their information. It may be there in fine print but my wife and I both managed to miss this IMPORTANT requirement. Since we live in Texas using a 2 day hotel stay in Florida isn't practical since we have no plans to visit the state in the near future. The requirement of a Sunday - Wednesday Check IN means that a weekend stay is out of the question. I was told by Grand Incentives that I could request a refund of my deposit, which I did, or I could choose different dates...but of course would have to settle for dates that don't include Friday or Saturday. Reading the numerous other Ripoff reports it is clear to me that making requested dates unavailable is what they do. They WANT people to settle for just getting their deposit back, which they state will take 4-6 weeks even though they cashed it much quicker than that. In complaining to them they had no concern what so ever about my dissatisfaction and the only offer was to refund my deposit, again in 4 - 6 weeks, and seemed quite happy to do so. There is NO real incentive to signing up for a company that uses Grand Incentives. My contract with Ambit Energy is up in a few months and I will promptly switch my service to another company. Just beware of anyone who uses Grand Incentives as any type travel benefit for doing business with their company. |
