Gold's Gym (Bountiful, Utah) Golds Gym Utah Gold's Gym FIRED two employees for lying to me, but still won't cancel my personal training contract! WORS |
13th of Mar, 2011 by User507424 |
I joined Gold's Gym in January 2011. When the manager (Brian) had me talk to the personal trainers (Jordan and Carlos, the Manager of Personal Training) before I left, they became very aggressive in trying to get me to sign up for a personal training package. When I resisted, they told me that they "really like me and want to help you." They lowered the price to $160/month and when I said I'd like to try that for a month, they said, "oh, it's actually a two year contract." When I declined due to the fact that I was unemployed at the time, they came back with a better offer. They told me they could let me try it out for one month. If I didn't like it, I could go back and have them cancel the contract by replacing the address on my driver's license with the new address in Utah. It seemed sketchy to me, but when Carlos claimed to call the Territory Manager and confirm this, I agreed. I am as mad at myself as I am them for not getting this in writing. Anyway, both Jordan and Carlos were fired during my first month of training and when I told the manager of Gold's (Brian) about my predicament, he said that he would have the new manager of personal training (Blake) call me and take care of things. Two months later and many ignored calls and voicemails later, and 5 or 6 times of showing up and talking to Brian about my situation, Brian finally told me "there's nothing I can do for you. I have no authority to cancel personal training plans. You'll have to call customer service." This was after he told me for 2 months that he would take care of me because he confirmed with Jordan and Carlos that they had lied to me. If I had the money to hire a lawyer, I'd sue. They have continued to charge me $160 per month and Gold's Gym Utah customer service is as hard to reason with as its gym employees. Please take my advice and pay a little bit more to go with a gym that does not require a contract. Learn from my stupidity! I've never had a worse customer service experience in my life! Gold's conned me. Please put them out of business. |
