Global Resources SMS *** New Name for Old Company with bad history *** Northbrook, Illinois |

I responded to an advertisement for the position of Sr. Business Analyst. I was called and screened by H.R., then I was contacted by Walt Masters to see if I was a good fit for the company. Of course I was! The offer was made, I got excited, then my brother-in-law gave me a heads up that scared me pretty good....so I started digging! It turns out that Global Resources has lots of different names....the players seem to be the same, but the ..in my opinion....the SCAM, is the same. When the offer packet came, it didn't pass the sniff test. It didn't have an "offer letter". It didn't have I-9, W-4, or other formal application documents that would indicate this was a legitimate company. Travel was booked using my credit card by a company that I had never heard of. When I called the company, they said "we are the in-house travel agency for Global Resources". When I asked where she was located, I was told a Suburb of Chicago. Having traveled there extensively, I would know the area. The answer was not the address listed as Global Resources. When I asked further questions, I was supposedly transferred to Walt Masters. When the person answered the phone, I inquired what her name was and which company she worked for. THE ANSWER WAS ISI. I had never heard of ISI. So I started asking more questions...where are you located? ...without warning, I was transferred again. When the phone rang, I once again inquired what the name of the person I was speaking with, and what company she was with. The answer this time was SMS! When you google SMS, ISI, and several other names you get dozens upon dozens of complaints. Why did I find this out? My brother-in-law had been hounded and harrassed by SMS and the same company under another name. When I told him of the job...and how it was to work...he said, "Are you sure it isn't SMS?" Turns out it was...under a new name freshly "minted" in 2011. So, as you might guess, I am not going to work there! |

They are horrible to consumers too! They are now "Global Resources" and will hound the heck out of small businesses in financial trouble. They are preying on the effects of the bad economy and feeding on the emotions of hard-working small business owners.
Beware! |
