Gina's Puppy Camp Canine Solutions The worst boarding facility I have ever seen Temecula, California |

My dog was unfortunate enough to stay at this facility recently. I brought my dog here one hot summer afternoon to stay overnight. Gina greeted me at the gate and seemed pleasant enough. She took me to the office so that I could give her my vaccine records, these were NEVER checked, just thrown onto a shelf. My dog also had a skin allergy at that time causing him to have some hair loss, she said she didn't need to know what it was, I offered to explain but she couldn't care less. It could well have been something infectious but she never cared enough to ask if other dogs would be at risk of also catching it. We then walked through to the "boarding". I was concerned to see the small dog area was directly in the sun and the water buckets were all dry and dirty. She had some landscapers there too that were cutting down trees overhead. One of the small dogs started barking as we walked past. She screamed at him to shut up and said that she would spray him with the garden hose if he barked again. She proudly announced that he knew the word hose and would be quiet now! We then walked back to the big dog area. It was not at all how it is pictured on the website. The website shows little doggie pools. I only saw one pool and it was filthy dirty and not filled with water. It was a very hot day so I was a little surprised by this. There were only 2 dry buckets and no water in sight. There were about 4 or 5 dogs there and they were all separated into very small areas. Again, this is not how the website portrays it. I then noticed that some of the dogs had shock collars on. I asked her if they were in fact shock collars and she proudly answered yes, she didn't want to hear dogs barking all day. A dog lover? I don't think so! I was very pressed for time and did leave my dog with her. By the time I had driven home I had a very bad feeling about her facility. I immediately got back in my car and drove back over to the facility. When I arrived I couldn't see her or her employees anywhere. It was 1:00 on a saturday afternoon so I assumed everyone would still be there. I let myself in through the gate and could not locate anyone. I finally found a landscaper. I asked him if Gina was there, he said no. I asked if her husband was there, he said everyone had left!!!! I told him I was going to go and collect my dog. He just said ok..... He had no idea who I was, I have never met him before, yet I was allowed to just go ahead and go back and take my dog! My dog had been left unattended with another dog that he had never met - ANYTHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!! My dog is a rare purebred dog. ANYONE could just go in there apparently at any time and just take a dog!!!! I left her a note to inform her that I had taken my dog and to call me if she had a question. I have never heard from her at all. Her website is a complete fabrication! The dogs are left in the summer sun all day without shade! They are left without water! They are not put together in groups to play! There are no doggie pools! There is no supervision! The areas are dirty! They are hosed in the face with water if they bark! They wear shock collars to stop any barking! I have since mentioned her facility to a friend at the dog park. They had a horrifying story of their dogs being left tied down. They returned from a vacation to find a rash around both of their necks! I have never been so disgusted. I am amazed she is still in business. If you love your dog do not leave them here. They would be better off left in your backyard than under her "care"! |
