Extremely unprofessional customer service

Made a hotel reservation using Get A Room.com on 5th May for stay 11th May. My credit card was charged in advance and I received a confirmation that the hotel is booked. When I arrived at the hotel I found out that the reservation did not happen. Upon calling the customer service of Get A Room I was told that the they had TRIED to inform me that the hotel was overbooked. The fact is I did not receive any phone call. The email notification that they sent was 6pm 10th May (less than 24hrs to the intended check in time, and 5 days after the reservation, by then I was already on the way to the airport and have no access to internet)

I ended up having to look for a hotel last minute myself, and paying for the most expensive hotel because the rest are fully booked. Get A Room is only going to refund for the advanced payment, and nothing else. Not the extra premium I had to pay for a last minute expensive room, not the EUR 100 phone bills I had to make to Get A Room from Spain to understand what happened to my reservation. I called up the customer service again, and the agent was extremely unprofessional, saying these happen all the time and I was being unreasonable to expect compensation more than the refund.
