George Negroni Traveling Scam artist preying on College kids Cobleskill, New York |
26th of Sep, 2011 by User269741 |
George Negroni is a liar and a thief. As a freshman to SUNY Cobleskill I had no idea of the reputation or the business practices of one "George Negroni". I first encountered Mr. Negroni during a school funded event showcasing some of the businesses located in the town. Comics being a hobby of mine I could not help but become intrigued and decided to follow up on it the next week. The store itself seemed shoddy but not wanting to judge a book by its cover, I took a look around. The store had a seemingly large selection but the majority of the "stock" was a large amount of older mostly worthless comics. Newer releases were displayed on a series of shelves along with a small novel section and an even smaller model/toy section. This was a small incing of what was to come. I purchased several new comics and inquired about some back orders, but was told I needed to be a "store member" to have them ordered. This service was suspicious but I accepted due to it being free with my first purchase. My information was taken down and my books were "ordered". I was then told that they would be in by next week. Next week came and only one had been delivered and I was told the order was wrong and they would be ordered, my close friend then ordered close to $100 worth of items from a catalog being pushed by George as "Pre-orders" for the holiday season. After MONTHS of questioning, stalling, and excuse making, I was given a full cash refund for my books and my friend that NEVER received her items that were going to be in store November 2010 was given "Store Credit" in MAY of 2011. Neither of us were pleased with the outcomes, and slowly we started to see less and less of George. The "Store Credit" card was INVALID with the store employees and "Could only be used with George." as we were told. The summer passed and we returned to Cobleskill seeking to use the remaining balance on the card and be done with the store, but the store was closed down. With some questioning around town we discovered that the "Owner" (George) had fled town and had been replaced with a respectable comic shop. And that's why George Negroni, a lie filled con artist should be both reported, and have legal action taken against him. One that abuses those that have little to no money for themselves and creates lies and decption to keep himself safe. I have only this to say to George Negroni if he should read this," Your move sir..the moral high ground is mine." |

Google the name George Negroni and/or heroesareforever.com. Nothing but negative comments from ripped off customers.
He's in Oneonta, NY as of late 2011 operating G&K Collectibles and Books. |
