George Negroni
George Negroni heroesareforever.com scammed me into opening a Diamond distribution account so he could get comics for his store Cobleskill, New York
15th of Jan, 2011 by User866031
In 2010 I got involved with a man named George Negroni who was the owner of HeroesAreForever.com and eventually opened Flashback Comics in the town of Cobleskill, NY.

His first location burned and he moved to a little plaza on the other end of town, in an upstairs storefront. I belong to a group of people who are working on an animation project, and we had decided to ask George if we could hold our weekly meetings at his shop, he agreed and it was there that George and I became friends. It was there that he told me his tragic tale of an irresponsible "partner" and how he could no longer order comics through Diamond, and he would have to close his store. It is in my nature to be trusting to a fault, and I went against the opinions of everyone in my life, and in August opened a Diamond account to help Mr. Negroni, because I was under the impression that he and I were friends, and he had talked of a partnership, which was awesome because he was living my dream.

Through a shared email account George wasted no time in contacting Diamond and set up the account through their website to order books, and had already started placing orders before we could discuss a written agreement. George promised me that he would not screw things up with Diamond, and swore that it was his old partner that ruined their account. When I mentioned that an agreement between George and myself needed to be signed, he agreed and it never happened. This is the part of the story that I slap myself for, because it is a giant red flag.

Well, I guess I had to learn the hard way. George was responsible for paying the COD on his orders. Diamond orders come on Wednesday. I was informed that George was refusing the box with the COD label on Wednesday and accepting the rest of the packages, then the UPS driver would return on Friday and he would pay. I contacted UPS, and they allow these things to happen. You can apparently accept partial shipments when they are COD.

In October George told me to call Diamond because the COD box was crushed, and the rest of the shipment was damaged. I told George that he had to refuse the whole shipment, and if there were damages he had accept the delivery, pack up the damages and then send them back. He then began to rant about how Diamond screws the little guy and he wasn't going to take it. His plan: refuse to pay. That night I did something I should have done in the beginning, I googled George Negroni. To my surprise, the first thing to pop up was that George Negroni and Heroesareforever.com are scams. I had never heard of Heroesareforever.com, so I researched and came to the site comicbookclassifieds.com and shockingly discovered that George had been at it for a while. George was offering a subscription service through Comic Collector Live, claiming that he had such a huge volume discount through Diamond that he could sell new books at 50% off and still make a profit, and through this lie he was able to take payments through paypal and never send people their product. Anyway, weeks went by, everyday I would take time from my workday to stop by his shop and ask him to go pay the account so it wouldn't ruin my credit, and everyday I was met with a different excuse, or a promise to pay. Guess what, he never paid. I sent him an email a day asking him to remit the balance due, and I was met with no response. He scammed me, and he used the guise of friendship to do it.

One day I caught him leaving early, and was able to get back some of the merchandise that he stole from Diamond. He had it all packed up with a note claiming that the value of the contents of the boxes plus a credit on the account would cover most of the 1947.81 that was owed, plus canceled order fees and restocking fees created by George when he decided to fill out invoices through Diamond until December. The merchandise was returned, and when I spoke with the Diamond account manager I was informed that the 300 dollar credit he said was on the account did not exist. The value of the product that he had given me to return did not even cover the restocking fees associated with the account, and George still possesses most of the merchandise he has stolen from Diamond. George apparently had 7500 on hold at his bank to buy toys from a wholesaler for a ''Black Friday'' sale at Flash Back Comics. He had even advertised in the local paper about a massive toy selection that would be available til Christmas. He then told me that the deal didnt go through and that the money was still on hold at the bank, and when they released it he would pay Diamond. I even had a Western Union Quick Collect Form delivered to his store so it would be easier for him. Nothing. He lied, surprise surprise.

(I would like to disclaim the following two paragraphs as my personal opinion, although there are mounds of evidence to suggest that what I am about to write is true.)

See, if there is one thing that I have learned about George Negroni is that he lies. He lies to customers about books, he makes up stories that are too ridiculous to be true, he lies to everyone. House of Lies. The tragedy of it is that he believes them, and thinks that everyone else believes them too. Most of us know that he is full of crap, and pity the ones who don't. I was able to go to his store when he was not there, and looked around. It seems that he has scammed someone else into ordering for him. In conclusion my reason for sharing this story is to inform the public. I probably won't ever receive the money from George to settle the Diamond account, much like the hundreds of people he scammed through the internet.

Google the name George Negroni and/or heroesareforever.com. Nothing but negative comments from ripped off customers.

He's in Oneonta, NY as of late 2011 operating G&K Collectibles and Books.
