I was referred to the pain management center by my family doctor for severe neck pain after a visit to the RA dept proved a waste of time and money. After wasting 2 hours of my time, they informed me the Doc was not an "approved provider" on my insurance. We left and once outside my wife called the ins co and they said this Doc was on their list. So we went back inside and apparently the girl who did the verification got it wrong so I went ahead with the procedure. I asked what this procedure cost and was informed that "no one knows" - "it could cost $2000.00 or $50,000.00 !!! Well, I took a chance and went ahead and had an epidural shot between the shoulder blades which was (supposed) to relieve the pain and stiffness in my upper neck. They said it could take a few days to work. Well, they might as well have shot me with a vial full of tap water because other than some pain where the needle went in, I felt and a month later still feel absolutely no difference in my pain level. The rub is this....they charged my insurance co a little over $4,000.00 for this little shot and my portion of that is $700.00. I told them I might as well have just taken 7 $100.00 bills and flushed them down the toilet. This place is a joke and I never intend to go back there for anything. yeah, its a beautiful campus, and they claim to be a non-profit org, but come on!
