| I just received an automated phone call that started like this: "Google", "Google has selected your company to be found(or placed, not sure) in the top spot of the first place. This spot has been reserved for your company and only one company can be chosen in your local area. Press 1 to claim your spot or press 2 to give up your spot to your competitor." Fact: Google states that not even Google can guarantee position placement in marketing on their search engine. Any company claiming such a thing or making any impressions they are from Google is a Fraud and should be avoided. When I mentioned this to the rep who revealed he is from www.gearlocal.com, he became aggressively argumentative. Buyer Beware! |

I wish I had read this first. I have a new website, and am new to promoting myself. When I received this call, I thought I could pay professionals to promote my site in ways I was ignorant of.
I am currently in the process of working out some serious problems with this company. Their so-called "profile page" was so atrociously composed my nine year old nephew could have done better. They are supposedly working on a new one, but for my money, I feel I have learned an expensive lesson. WARNING: NEVER PAY UP FRONT!

| I had a marketing site done by Gear Local and loved the results! When I asked if they were Google they told me "no" and that they were "Gear Local". When I asked how they were affiliated with Google they said something along the lines of, "We operate and optimize within Google's guidelines." Which means they operate under "White Hat" SEO techniques instead of "Black Hat" so you won't get "blacklisted" from Google. That is what you want after all isn't it? To be on the front page of Google? They've done it for me and have done a great job. Idk what all the fuss is about to be honest. |

| I can't believe people would take the time to post things on a company that goes out of its way to do things the right way. Some people are just jaded by life I suppose. I have been a client of Gear Local for several months and have nothing but great things to say about the company and their staff. In a day and age where people think everyone is out to get them or they want instant gratification, I guess I can understand. Anyway, this is just my 2 cents. If you own a business, don't let people who may have just had a bad day make decisions for you. Make your own decisions based on information you have been given not what others say. Heck, look up any big company and I am sure you will find people who have nothing good to say about them either. |

| I own a auto shop, i received a call from a automated robot system which wanted me to dial #1 to proceed through if i wanted my business on the front page of google, i spoke with a guy named Preston, he sounded really nice at first, he lied and told me that he was a representative of google, come to find out, they aren't even a affiliate, they are a company called Gear Local, i proceeded with the call just to see what other bullshit lies that he would blow up my ass, he continued to pitch me a bunch of bullshit about getting me to the front page of google, and all of these pipe dreams of customizing my webpage, He was very pushy the entire time, tryed to tell me that they are only able to offer their services to 1 business in my area, so that was his way to try to scam me into buying his garbage service, they started off at 400 down and 200 a month, and then he tryed to drop the cost several times, started to come across as desperate, they are not who they say they are, stay away from them, if they call hang up..They are a fucking joke!!! SCAM!!!SCAM!!! |
