Several drivers, myself and 2 others I know of, did not get paid no-gos, maybe even 6 or 7 others, all were real slow at getting paid. On June 28th 2010 I took a run over for a guy who was real sick, short notice. Marcus told me $1.30 from IA to OR. It was 1647 miles with 2 overnights that worked out to $2,261.10 Finished the run on 6/30/10; uneventful / no problem run. Later to learn, that these were flat rate runs that came out of PA, the run had 3 no-goes before I took it over. Once this run was done, talking with Marcus, (who called to ask about my miles & invoice amount,) he told me: it would work out to better then $1.30 a mile; (1st lie,) and asked if I would do another the next week. Went on the 2nd run, though I had asked to be paid for the 1st run first. That they will send checks out right after they are paid. (2nd lie.) As it turned out it took 5 weeks to get paid for the 1st run, Was told the check came back for lack of postage, blamed it on teenage office help. Check was dated 7/1/10. Now Becky did call me on Sun 8/1/10, all sorry about the payment, and did overnight it on the next day, so I got it 8/3/10. Really question the date of the check 7/1/10, this was before I ever sent in my invoice in, but after I told Marcus my invoice was for $2,261.10. (???) Worst part, I only got $ 2,005.52; $1,778.48 went to the 1st half of the run which was under a 1000 miles My payment was $255.58 short; $141 short of even you do just $1.30 a mile and no overnights. (3rd lie.) The 2nd run was going to be the flat rate; $3,784 Was instructed to be ready to go on July 8 2010 in PA. Load did not leave until the 10th, 2 No-go days to start. Once we got going on Friday the 10th, we had to shut it down, another no-go on Sunday the 11th since there's no oversize in ILL. The flat rate was for $3,784. and should have an extra $450 for the 3 no-go days. On the 2nd run, it ended short on 7/14/10 (@ 2658 miles, short about 100-150 miles.) The Wilhelm drivers had to reset their clocks, their boss had told the truck drivers to release the Pilots, he did not want to have to pay any more no-gos. I have no problem with Wilhelm running legal, in fact I commend that. Do feel that after a 13 hour day there should be an added $60 overnight none-the-less. But that has nothing to do with Wilhelm, it is with Gary's Pilot Car Dispatch to do the right thing. I am being told from Becky (only via email,) that Wilhelm didn't pay for any no-gos. They are refusing to pay any no-gos. Payment for the 2nd run took just over 6 weeks. Calls to Becky were not answered or returned. |
