While home, recovering from surgery, I was eating a bowl of Harvest Blend cereal. Suddenly I bit into what felt like a large piece of gravel and cracked my tooth. Turns out, the entire box of cereal was full of clusters that were all so hard, they did not soften in cereal. This was not your usual crunchy substance found in their cereal, as it was my favorite cereal. I contacted the company and explained that I just had major surgery and was home without pay and my tooth broke. They took a report, claimed they would call me and did not. Months went by and I phoned them requested that I send them the box of cereal. Months went by, tooth still hurting - NOTHING. I sent the cereal, more months went by. I called them and had just had my second surgery. They claimed they would call me back. They did not. Nearly a year later, the tooth began to decay and crumble. I went to the doctor who drilled out the center and filled with a temporary filling. I called the company again, and they acted as though this was the first time I called them. Fast forward nearly two years later, the tooth rots beyond repair and I am forced to get it pulled. I call them upset and explain that I have lost the tooth. They waited nearly three years to become proactive. They call my new doctor who can only tell them that my tooth has decayed beyond repair. I tell Scott Muldoon to contact the office manager at the previous dentist, she has record that there was only a small cavity in the tooth when they drilled it, but she told me that biting into a substance that hard can cause a normal tooth to crack. The cavity decay did not start until months after the initial crack. HOWEVER, the office manager is no longer there. Scott Muldoon, obviously pleased with this outcome can now make return phone calls to tell me that his client is not responsible for a tooth that was removed due to cavity decay. I find it ironic that I could never get anyone to return my calls without me calling them first. But when he is confident that I no longer have a leg to stand on and his client does not have to compensate me for a faulty product, he can suddenly dial the phone. Sadly, what would have been less than $250 dollar repair for a cavity, turned into a complete loss of the tooth, facial sagging due to the lack of support the tooth offered and a big fat $3,000 just for me to replace it with a permenant tooth. I will admit, my response to him was unkind. Shame on Gilster Mary Lee for letting these bottom feeders take care of their loyal customers with rude, truth twisting, neglegent bottom feeders. I am seriously considering hiring a lawyer, out of pocket, just to teach them all a lesson in human compassion. I wasn't looking for some big pay out, any kind of suffering compensation. I just wanted them to fix my tooth - period. All I can say to Gallagher Bassett, Scott Muldoon and the Gilster Mary Lee company - KARMA IS CALLING~!!! |
