I too was sold a sick puppy from G&M Great Danes..My son went to pick up our puppy(dozer) and the puppy had some pimples on top of his head and when he questioned it,the breeder said it was nothing to be concerned with and it should go away in a few days...needless to say we have been batteling mange since we got him..He now sees a dermatologist for this ,and lucky for me(if you want to call it luck?)I found two places to buy his VERY EXPENSIVE medicine at a fraction of the cost of what my vet was charging..I paid $1200.00 for the pup,and have spent more than that on his medical bills since we got himBoth of my vets have said that the breeders should NOT be breeding the dogs anylonger since it most certainly a genetic thing...My son was told mange is NOT covered, but if these people are as reputable as they came off being, then they should have been able to spot this as what it was and stand behind their products(the pups)I feel we were knowingly sold sick pups...Owners of Dozer, the 103 lb couch potato. |

I too was sold a sick puppy. He weighed 5lbs when I picked him up. He had spots of thinning fur on his face, explosive diarrhea, worms, mites, and the mange. I took Leonidas (his name) to a military vet the next day. They were disgusted by his condition. They said he was either an infant (maybe 4 to 5 weeks old) or extremely ill (he weighed 5lbs). Well, he was VERY ill. He had Demodectic mange, Coccidiosis, and Canine Rage Syndrome (a Hereditary Epilepsy). I informed Melissa Shively of all his medical problems. She offered me my money back...that day came and went. She avoided me like the plague. I was very insistant with her. Melissa said, "Go ahead and take me to court, I'll drag it out for years!" Thats when the coward feel off the radar. I had to put our beloved Leonidas down on January 31, 2009. My children were crushed and there was nothing I could do. Before I had him put to sleep I spoke with Dr. Molesworth with the Main Street Veterinary Hospital in MD, Dr. Kathern K. Henry with the Veterinary Clinic at the Carlisle Barracks in PA, Stan Rawlinson a behaviourist and obedience trainer in the UK, he is the founder member and chairman of PAACT (The Professional Association of Applied Canine Trainers). He had done extensive research on Canine Rage Syndrome, Catherine Roh of Raca-Danes in Callaway MD with 23years of showing and breeding Great Danes, the York County SPCA, the N.C. College of Veterinarian Medicine, and Cathy McKinney a dog warden of the PDA Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement. She has been on Melissa Shively's trail for years & has busted her over and over again. So as you can see, I did my research and tried to save his life, but to no avail. All the experts said he was a danger to my family and society as a whole. Melissa Shively is a disgrace to dog breeders every where! She never gave me my money back, she just slipped away like the lying, stealing, worthless piece of trash she is. I'm willing to share everything I know about this loser, feel free to contact me (Melissa) at [email protected] |
