Frederick Forgione is a con artist and a scammer. Under the cover of his "business" AMF Waterproofing, Fred told me that he was an expert waterproofer and led me to believe that he was the owner of a reputable business. He charged me thousands of dollars to repair a couple leaks in my roof and to do some work on the interior ceilings that had been damaged.
Unfortunately, the leak was never actually repaired. Instead, it got worse. It actually lead to more damage to the ceiling inside the house.
Fred's plan from the beginning was to subcontract with another company to fix the ceilings inside. I had paid Fred for this additional work upfront. After I chased Fred for months, this subcontractor did show up to do the work inside of my home. Here's the sad part. Shortly after, the subcontractor, who actually did a great job, called me because Fred hadn't paid him and wasn't answering his phone. This is when it all really hit me that we had both been scammed by Fred. Shortly after this is when the roof leaked again.
Once I realized I had been scammed. I knew Fred could never actually fix what he said he would fix. I also realized he was never going to be a reputable, stand-up man and pay me back the money he maliciously took from me. I came to terms with the fact that I had been scammed and hired a professional to fix my roof the correct way.
Unfortunately, I was introduced to Fred from someone I knew. I hadn't realized that person didn't know him very well. I took him at his word and gave him the benefit of the doubt. I have learned my lesson the hard way and will be sure to double check references in the future. I will also be checking the ripoff report! Be aware and stay away from Frederick Forgione!!
