They failed 2 pre pour and 1 post pour inspection on my job, The inspector also informed me that they did not have the 5 inches that they say, they had barely 4" which was code. They corrected the ground to get the 5" but at the day of pour they tried to underpour the concrete to only give me 4" but I called them out on it and they corrected it. I questioned them as to the pitch of the concrete at the back of my house and their guy in charge said it was OK. Well a few days later I ran some water and it all pools at the back of the house, seeping along the foundation into my window-well and into my basement. This was similar to problem I had with the old concrete which was all cracked and pitched all over the place. That was why we were replacing it. They said they were going to fix it and the city inspector stated the only way was to rip out and re-pour. They also questioned me as to "being in" with the inspector. The first inspector turned this job over to the Chief Inspector because he stated that there were going to be problems. They instead put a trench drain it to move the water about 30 feet away in my yard (about 2 hrs work) The drain is worthless, It will move probably about 10 gallons, but that is nothing compared to the water coming off the driveway. The water just pools there, sometimes for a few days. The installation of the drain was a result of the FAILED post inspection, they wouldnt return calls for a week. His crew left without collecting their check because they were at a neighbors trying to get a sidejob and Fortis called me looking for it, so I returned their call a week later. In that time Joe left numerous threatning messages on my voicemail which I have saved. He stated I was going to get it and I better watch myself, also things like I better realize they live in St Charles, and how its an old mob town. |
