Forever Lazy Order SCAM, Internet |
1st of Dec, 2011 by User890910 |
I wanted to order 1 Forever Lazy for a gift for Christmas. I Google'd the website and it was advertising a buy 1 get 1 free option, so I decided to do it. The website requires that you provide your credit card and shipping information immediately. Below, it gives qty/color/size options as the final step of the order. It says "Each size quantity you select will be a set of 2 in the color to its right." Mistakenly, I did not process that information as stating that I had to order 2 of the same size and color in order to redeem the buy 1 get 1 free deal. That just seemed silly. I chose Qty:1 pink small and Qty:1 grey medium. I clicked "click here to order," assuming that I would be directed to a page that would confirm my information and provide me with a total including tax and shipping, the way legitimate websites do. Unfortunately, this is not a legitimate website. My total came to $99.27!!! I thought I was ordering 1 Forever Lazy for $29.95 and getting another one free!!! It turned out that I had ordered 4 Forever Lazies because I ordered Qty:1 in two different size/color options!! I immediately understood why it said "Each size quantity you select will be a set of 2 in the color to its right." I was getting 2 pink and 2 grey. In addition to the cost of the product, you had to pay $7.95 in P&H per Forever Lazy, costing me over $31.80 in just P&H fees. (I knew this and was okay with that before I knew I had ordered 4!!!) I realized how silly this was, so I called customer service to cancel my order (I really only wanted 1 anyway). They told me they would not have access to my order information for 24 hours (business days), so I would have to call back. It's Friday, so I have to call back on Monday. For whatever reason, the customer service man on the phone made a comment that my order might be shipped before they had access to my information on Monday, which sounded sketchy and got me researching the website. I was frustrated and nervous with the situation, so I Google'd "Forever Lazy scam" and found this website with other people who have had this same experience. This made me more nervous, so I called back and asked about a return policy to resolve my issues if they in fact could not cancel my order before it got shipped. I spoke to a woman this time who was very rude. I explained to her that I read reviews about people trying to cancel orders and having customer service say they couldn't access their order before it had been shipped, so I wanted to know the return policy. She seemed unable to answer that question very promptly and she was talking to other people in the office, ignoring me while she was still on the line with me. Finally, she said I would still have to pay shipping. To make a long story short, I called customer service 3 times, speaking to 3 different representatives. They all seemed sketchy and none of them assured me they would be able to cancel my order- they only suggested that I call first thing Monday and hope for the best. The 3rd woman answered the phone saying "may I have your last name and soc- about to say social security number, and then said "whoa- I mean zip code." That crossed the line, so I threatened to sue the company with this woman. By the end of our conversation, she told me she has been able to cancel orders before and if I call when they open at 8:00 Monday, they could cancel my order before it gets shipped. I will be calling first thing on Monday morning to be sure that my order gets canceled and I plan to cancel my debit card immediately if customer service says they don't have my information again. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS WEBSITE. |
