| I went in for detox from an antidepressant and a benzo (1mg) daily. I had been to one other detox facility the prior year. The detox was no easier at this place. Phenobarbital was used for detox - I was also sent home on phenobarbital, lyrica, clonodine and zyprexa, and a bag full of supplements that were supposed to help with my supposed lymes's disease, and mold toxicity. I was also prescribed a hormone (my oncologist had a fit!). They claimed that even though I had breast cancer I needed to take it - after all, Suzanne Somers does) I stayed for an additional week for the vitamen c drips. I returned twice after that for more drips (we live 5 hours away) - I took the supplements for at least 8 months with NO change in my depression and additional drugs in my system that I had to be weaned (yet again) off of. The products he claims will help - do not help at all and the detox was no better than any other. I am now seeing an md who is prescribing amino acids and nothing else - after 6 months I am completely well - no anxiety or depression. |

OMG run do not walk away from this man and his staff. This doctor should have his license to practice medicine takena way. I understand that now the state has enough on him now to possibly take his license.
He will slap everyone on hormones without proper testing, this is very dangerous. He claims to be a saint when in reality he is the devil in disguise.
As for wellness he is the biggest joke ever. This man has a lot of issues of his own n should not be allowed to run a detox center.
Hey Marvin I knew I would find a way to kick you after the hell you and your staff put me though. Now i find myself sitting with the state and sharing what hell you dish out to people and hopefully now they will take some action.

| This place is a total scam - I have been there and feel for what I wanted to believe. They have the most brutal approach - 5 days and let you go. There follow up is horrible and you will walk out with a loy less money and in worse shape than you entered. |

I, too, was totally scammed by this Con Artist, his brother and their detox facility. I have also filed a complaint against Sponaugle with the Florida Board of Medicine, which is being investigated. This man, his brother and his protocol for detox is very dangerous. I was also put through the wellness program. All I got out of that was $15, 000 worth of testing that insurance paid little of, a cabinet full of supplements and other addictive medications, and a worse addiction to THEIR maintenance opiate, Subutex. Eight months after my nightmare at Florida Detox, I had to be detoxed once again from Rapid Drug Detox in Michigan. RDD Center was an exceptionally wonderful facility and I left clean of Subutex, not reinfected like I was by Sponaugle.

To date, I am out over $40, 000 because I chose to believe what Florida Detox said on their website and telephone conferences. I was re-infected with another opiate when I came to them on a small dose of oxycodone for a few weeks and was subjected to a chemical Benzo detox, which I have found out is extremely dangerous and causes years of complications. A Benzo WEAN is the only way to be taken off of them. I was lied to, blackmailed, abused and had my medical records withheld from me, which is against the law. This doctor needs to be shut down and punished for his abuse. It looks like I am not the only one who feels this way. I DO NOT work for Rapid Drug Detox in Michigan. But, because RDD Center allows patients to speak with one another and gives out names and phone numbers of others that have gone through their detox, I am able to speak to many people who have also suffered under the direction of Marvin Sponaugle. Many have gone through my exact experience by having to be detoxed again from the opiate, Subutex, which Florida Detox glorifies. And, as one of the above testimonies says, This Man, his brother, his staff and the whole Center has ZERO MORAL FIBER, even though they profess their Christian Morals. Lies Lies Lies. |

| These guys are truly evil. Scam artists to the max. All of these previous comments are totally on point. I would bet a lot of money that any positive feedback you see on these websites was put on there by him or his staff. Don't be ashamed to come forward. You can be anonymous and also make a complaint. Abuse can't be stopped if it's not reported and the perpetrator just goes on to another victim. |

It is a shame that I have to waste my time disputing these comments. You are talking about one person who probably did not follow the post detox protocol of stopping the opiate blocker. When someone is taking Hundreds or Thousands of milligrams of any opiate, a safe protocol is to safely detox to an opiate blocker THEN step down gradually from the blocker. The brain and body can’t sustain a rapid detox to Zero. We get the patients from other facilities after they attempt to do a detox only to find them worse than when they started. I invite anyone who has had a bad experience at Florida Detox & Wellness to contact me directly to discuss their concerns. Let me correct your situation rather than being unhappy with your visit. It is Irresponsible for you and others on this site to taint the over 6, 000 patients that are happy with their successful detoxing. It will be on YOUR conscience to know that you stopped someone from saving their life because of your comments.

Do not go to this con artist to be stuck on subutex... a powerful opiate 200 times more powerful than morphine. Just search doctors in your area on suboxone.com website and you can do it for a whole lot less. 175 a visit and medication most insurance cover. do the math and 200 a month is a lot less than 15000 and 200 a month afterwards. And this supposed opiate blocker is nothing more than a synthetic opiate. Please people do your research!!! Do not listen to this idiot!! Its like giving cocaine to a crackhead and calling it a crack blocker!! You should and will be sued. Live it up now buddy but the law will catch up with you. No one commits crimes and gets away with it. Ever seen a retired drug dealer? |
