Firestone Firestone RipOFF Drained Transmission instead of turbo OIL,,blew out turbo, Roanoke Rapid, North Carolina
29th of Dec, 2011 by User821997
I took my car to Firestone to have the oil changed in Roanoke Rapid Nc. It is an Audi A4 1.8T. After the oil change the car had a dramatic loss of power while driving home. The oil light came on. I checked the oil. It was about 3-4 inches over the fill mark. The transmission felt strange. I called Firestone. They picked the car up and said they found 3/4 quart of oil overfill. There was also oil all over the hood. Obviously the oil was forced out of the engine. They said there was no loss of power. I left Firestone again in the car. I immediately called them back, the car would not reach 45 miles an hour in a half of mile, still had an extreme loss of power. They said take the car to Audi and have it documented and repaired and a claim would be opened to take care of the money I put towards it. I did exactly that. Dave Dusak in the claims department is my contact. I leave him 6 messages over the course of a week before repairs are made. He does not return my calls so I need my car and repairs are made. Audi replaced the turbo and fills the empty transmission and documents that Firestone did drain my transmission and overfilled my engine oil. It blew out the valve cover gasket and forced oil into the turbo causing it to blow as well. I file my receipts to the tune of 4200 dollars to Dave Dusak. He calls and leaves a message. I call back. Twice. I have not heard form him. Dave Dusak during the one conversation we had said " You had the repairs made?" Well, I need to inspect the turbo!" Audi can not even take a turbo apart, but says only an extreme condition to the engine will cause it to seize...ie..4 quarts of extra oil. So in closing, Firestone drained my transmission during a standard oil change,over-filled my car with oil causing 4200 dollars in damage. They do not return my calls. Its been 3 months and I have no idea what is going on and it's pretty apparent that they are trying to leave me holding these repair receipts. I will get a lawyer and I will pursue Action 9 and every other avenue I can. I am in claims handling myself, and I know I am not being taken care of properly. There are stacks of complaints against Firestone online, I am printing them in preparation. If Firestone decides to pay me for the damages they have caused to my car I will gladly post a reply to this report stating they have made the situation right.
