Firebird Like every other scam out there! Elmhurst, Illinois |

Fool me once, my mistake. Fool me twice, maybe another mistake... Fool me three times, I think not!! As a 22 year old without a college degree, I've been looking for a job where I can move my way up in the company, while making some money, and learning a thing or two. I've been employed by a couple of these "pyramid marketing" door to door sales guys, and I should have seen this one coming too. I found the ad for these guys on Craigs List. I called in for an interview and the only thing I was asked was if I had reliable transportation, and what time I could come in. I walked in and filled out a "lets get acquainted" sheet. I was interviewed by a man, and I'm actually unsure of his position. There was a woman "in training" observing the interview. They asked questions about previous work experience and why I would be good for an assistant manager in training. I gave my answers and they immediately asked me back for a second interview. Being excited at first, I set up a second interview, thanked them for their time, and I was on my way. On my drive home it all started to come together. I've been here before I thought to myself, so I decided to do a little research. I came across 2 articles on scam Report and was a bit upset with what I had found. However, being the good guy that I am, I was going to go back with the articles on my interview and ask them about it personally. However, another day passed and a few more popped up. At this point my wishful thinking was gone and I decided to call in and cancel my 2nd interview. When I called to cancel the person handling the phones asked my name, and why I wanted to cancel. I was completely honest with him telling him it was because I've read a bunch of disheartening articles online about their company, and I was no longer interested in the position. From there he became sarcastic with me and said, " Oh yeah, since everything you read online is true." He then continued to get angry, curse, and hang up the phone. If you're a legitimate company, and the position your trying to fill is so great, why would you be so upset about one applicant canceling an interview? I'm sure there are a bunch of managers with experience looking for work. Why haven't any of them applied? In conclusion, all I'd like to say is stay away from this company. They're just another one out of thousands of companies trying to rip you off!! |
