I got a call yesterday afternoon stating that I was entered into a drawing and my name was chosen. I could choose from 3 items - a fleece blanket, grill set, or $1,000 in grocery coupons. They stated that they would have a representative named Karen stop by to drop off the items and she would also bring some free gifts for my husband to choose from, she would be at our house between 6:30-7pm. By 7:10 noone had showed up and so I called the office number and the gal that answered the phone said she would contact the rep and call me back. She called me back within 5 mins to let me know the gal lost her keys in her car and would be late. The rep called me at 8:21 to let me know she was on her way and she didn't show up until almost 9pm. When she got here she came in and immediately made herself comfortable in my house and was overly friendly with my 5 yr old son. The phone operator never informed me that she would be doing a demo. The gal started unpacking all this stuff and made herself comfortable on my couch and did the demonstration from that spot. It took several hours for her to go through everything then she asked about how much we could afford to spend on the vacuum/air purifier system, then she went over prices of the systems. After that she kept calling Travis which i assume is her boss, then she'd try to negotiate with me on how much I would pay monthly even though I never once told her I wanted to buy the system. Then she was asking about my credit score and when my husband would be home. Then she called Travis again and told him I would talk to my husband so we could be on the application together, again I never stated I wanted to buy the system. She finally gave up, with several annoyed looks and words under her breath, she began packing up at this time it was after midnight and she took her time packing up and finally left at 12:30. I had told her several times that it was getting late and I had to babysit in the morning plus take care of my 2 kids. It's like she thought the longer she stayed the more she could try to get me to buy this system. Are they so desperate to sell these systems that they just hang around for hours trying to ware you down so you'll buy one? I mean $3,000 for an air purifier/vacuum is ridiculous, and I did my research about replacement costs and home visits yearly, it would be crazy to spend that much money plus all the extra costs! Don't welcome them into your house, you didn't really win anything but a presentation and a very cheap "prize" and a person desperate to make you spend or finance a large sum of money.
