FIDOO.com They never gave their names, nor are their legal documents on company stationary. FIDOO to scam fashion bloggers and content developers N

I responded to a posting on Craigslist requesting Fashion Photographers and Style Writers or bloggers in New York City. The companies name is FIDOO.com. I filled out their online questionnaire, which really just probed my relevant industry contacts. Upon completion I received an automated reply that scheduled me to arrive at their office location within the Chrysler Building on the 26th floor. Mind you, these are rental offices by Regus Office Suites for small businesses. Upon entering I met an adorable Asian girl who offered me documents and release forms to fill out. So, I sat down at the conference table to greet five other applicants. All were causally dressed. Two guys appeared to be Photographers/Videographers and the women appeared to be writers. The fella to lead this conference meeting was a casually dressed African-American male who never gave his name. He was short haired and fair skinned, and never removed his dark sun glasses. Very mystique fella. Basically he's proposing fashion content creators to submit industry related editorials or blog stories for a flat rate pay of $1000 per five articles each week. All submissions must forfeit exclusive copy rights of all intellectual properties. Payments are received on a weekly basis, he states. He claims to be a start-up PR firm. Basicly, this marketing approach is what's known as "Ambient Marketing". Utilizing social networking content to attract readers and gain advertising revenue for media relations placement, or product placement. What makes this character suspicious is that he hides behind sun glasses. His legal documents are illegitimate stationary. The release form positions the signatures on a separate, unrelated document. He utilized rental conference offices. And he asked me to leave because my questions intimidated him. Basic questions... like, how often do we receive pay? Who are your clients for PR? He also wanted everyone to sign a release form and stand before a video camera and tell who they are. Note: none of this is illegal or substantiates a solid scam. But I caution others because this is an operation that potentially coheres creative content developers to sign off exclusive rights to content and never get paid.

First of all, I'd like to remind readers that although this site does empower consumers by revealing unlawful business practices, it also permits individuals to slander small businesses with false information. We, at Fidoo Inc, have unfortunately been hit with the "hater" stick by an unqualified candidate who was asked to leave because of his inability to refrain from asking questions before the Q&A portion of the interview. Based on the irrelevant issues in his article regarding race and clothing, he clearly does not have any real arguments to support his insinuations of our illegitimacy. Why is it relevant to highlight the Asian background of the woman greeting the interviewees? Why does it matter that the man leading the interview is a light-skinned black man? Why is it a crime to wear sunglasses indoors? It's a fashionable accessory that even the leader of the couture Chanel fashion house, Karl Lagerfeld, rocks 24/7. Since when is it shady to conduct a group interview? And since when did it become suspicious to temporarily occupy an office space in the Chrysler building? Would he rather meet in a dark alley at the Meat-Packing District? We are an internet-based company headquartered in Minneapolis, which explains the unnecessary need for a permanent office location in NYC. Unless he'll graciously pay for our rent, our start-up business does not need the extra overhead cost.
Fidoo, which stands for Fashion Information Distribution Organized Online, is an online search engine that can pinpoint the availability of any brand in any store in any location within the USA...talk about a shopoholic's dream! Fabulous fashionistas, lost tourists, and tired travelers...Fidoo is your fashion GPS! Fidoo also provides a space for individuals to create their own fashion profile and to view articles, photographs and blogs of fashion news, events, and trends from our creative and connected team of photographers and writers. So ultimately, Fidoo's central aim is to help people attain, understand, and express fashion! A more in depth description of our mission statement, services, and history can be viewed on www.fidoo.com.
It is not unusual for a start-up business, like ours, to encounter attacks that question our legitimacy and legality. They pounced right before our exciting, innovative and nationwide hard launch that would have automatically negated their false allegations. But hey, there's no such thing as bad publicity? If anything, they got us free PR and marketing. But, be forewarned that this small hiccup will not hinder Fidoo's grand reveal! This just got our team even more pumped to launch the Fidoo movement! Fashionistas of the world, unite!
