Farrell and Seldin Sent me a letter stating I had not made agreed upon payments and they may invoke legal action. About 2 weeks later I was served with a summons to Adams County Court. The summons says that the plaintiff is Capital One and I have 2 summons for 2 accounts from them. I disputed the charge amounts and have yet to hear from them. I am hearing impaired and asked that they contact me only by email so I can fully understand what they are claiming/saying. I have yet to receive any emails or letters via USPS explaining the charges. However about a week ago they Mailed via USPS a letter offering me a settlement but no amounts were given or were any email addresses. I called to no avail got no answer or a voice mail. Now the court date is here and I have yet to speak with them. It was my understanding that if you dispute the claims they have to show you copies of the alleged amounts due. I find these practices to be unfair and am going to file a complaint with the Colorado Collection Agencies action group or States licensing authority. Collection practices are generally expensive to defend against when they are handled as they should be as it is let alone when one decides to take short cuts or ignore a defendants calls for proof.
