A couple of months ago I decided to go back to using Express-Scripts to fill my prescriptions since they are cheaper. I had used them in the past, but it took about 2 weeks to get a prescription through the mail and I decided it was easier to use Walgreens. Upon careful consideration I decided to give Express-Scripts another go. Big mistake!
First, my then doctor's office is very badly run and they kept sending requests for the same prescriptions, one after the other. I didn't realise thiswas happening at first. Then, I got prescriptions for three medicines that I hadonly just decided not to take anymore because research hadshowed me that these three may well have been causing my constant sinus infections.
I packed up the prescriptions I didn't want into a box and mailed them back to Express-Scripts. After about a week I called to see if they had received them and when I would be getting a credit.
This is when the poop hit the fan. I was informed that I hadn't asked forPERMISSION to return the meds. I didn't know I had to. I was then told that the meds would be destroyed even though they obviously hadn't been opened and that another shipment would be sent to me, even though I didn't want it. Am I now going to be charged again for the same unwanted meds? As for getting a credit, Express-Meds don't give credits. So, I was charged $31.00 for the meds plus I paid over $15.00 to mail them back. Of course, I don't expect credit for themailing but I do expect it for the returned meds. I called several times, the person on the other end would run off to talk to a supervisor, and the outcome was always the same: no credit. According to them it was all my fault. First I allowed the doctor's office to send in prescriptions that I had changed my mind on taking. Second, I sent the meds back withoutExpress-Scripts' permission. No, I would not get a refund and, according to them,I am the idiotand they are as pure as the driven snow.
I have called Tricare and made a complaint, like that will really do any good. I have called my bank andspoke to their Fraud department. When their paperwork arrives I will fill it in and send it back, but I don't really expect to see my money back. Crooks like Express-Scripts have all the angles covered.
I am writing this to warn everyone out there to think twice before dealing with such an unscrupulous company as Express-Scripts.Why, I wonder, is Tricare hooked up with them? What is Tricare getting out of this alliance? |
