Event Connect Inc, Refuses to payback $13K for rooms promised and then blamed their supplier. Now in our legal department Las Vegas, Nevada

Caution...Caution DO NOT USE We were left out in the cold!
Event Connect had our down payment of $13K since January 2010 with the understanding they were to reserve hotel rooms for the January 2011 CES in Las Vegas. Communication was suddenly cut off in November and after numerous unanswered emails and phone calls we get a response back in mid December saying they were all out of the office but would ensure we had our hotel rooms as promised and paid for. We waited for about a week and after not being able to get a hotel confirmation we called the hotel directly and were informed NO ROOMS were reserved for us. WOW! A month before our biggest show and our arrival day no rooms or hotels available anywhere close to the LVCC. Event Connect claimed that someone from our office cancelled our reservations however this was a complete lie! The hotel confirmed they released the rooms after not receiving the down payment needed in order to continue to hold the rooms by the hotel’s December’s deadline. We promptly advised EC of our findings and of course they had another excuse and now they blamed their supplier and said they would take care of the monies owed us and would issue a refund. We had to scramble to find a hotel almost 40 minutes away! This was an additional expense as well as the added stress. We paid EC to ensure we had 18 rooms and 1 suite and we had nothing. Well here are almost two months later and still waiting to hear back from Event Connect about our refund. I have been in the Consumer Electronics industry for over 35 years and I must say I never seen such a poorly run company. The owner, Jim has never bothered to call us directly and all our emails to him have gone unanswered. It is now in our legal department for resolution.
As a side note, I must say Roxanne from EC has tried to get this cleared up however her upper management has not responded.
