Equally Yoked Singles of Faith singleChristianSolutions Unsafe Dating site - emailed passwords - refused a refund Internet |

In January, I came across this Christian dating site - and I looked around the examples and thought I would try it. I was bored. They said they were 1000 or so singles in my area. So I signed up and paid via paypal, and was able to go into the site itself. Discovered there was no way to actually search or sort the people (and area included what appeared to be several states) and then I found a part that says to enable search features "Email us your password and then you can search." At that, I immediately canceled my paypal subscription and emailed the company requesting my money back. I never received a response, but I was spammed (despite sending "unsubscribe" requests). What was worse - each spam contained my username and password. Nice. After 4 unsubscribe requests and a week, I reported them for spamming to their ISP. After another week or so, and still no response, I opened a dispute on Paypal. (I even emailed them using the email from Paypal.) They didn't respond to that either. So I had to escalate it. Which I did. At the end of March, I got a notice from Paypal saying that the dispute was closed and I wasn't getting my money back. No reason why not. All I know is that I paid $19 for a 5 minute peek at the worst and most unsecure website I have ever seen. For all I know my information (I wiped out as much as I could), is still floating around that website and who knows how many others in that "1000s in your area" are 5 minute members like me. I am also disappointed in Paypal - because they closed the dispute without talking to me about it. Just looking and seeing that I had subscribed and unsubscribed within 5 minutes should have been a clue. I wish I had just done a stop payment instead - but I trusted paypal. Anyway, don't ever use this website. As a Christian, I am appalled that they are calling it Christian when it is just a ripoff. |

I have had very similar experience involving Singles of Faith. I signed up for this dating site in Feb 2011 and paid $19. Soon I learned that the majority of profiles were incomplete as many were initiated by people just browsing. I emailed the company repeatedly and never received a response. I did file a complaint through payola and the company emailed once. No other responses were received and they denied me access to the site after I requested a full refund. In the one email from them they stated that I requested to not have access to the site. My response was that I requested a refund but and not to keep my money and not allow me access. Then to really top it off they charged my account another $19 May 21, 2011. I have emailed them again and requested that the additional $19 be refunded to me and still no response from them.
This was escalated this to a dispute with Paypal and they did not help me recover my money either. I will not be using Paypal again.
Currently I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General.
Don't try Singles of Faith or you will find yourself unequally yoked! |
