The insurance company did a reservation with Enterprises Rent a Car,when I returned the car on xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIt was suddenly damage.
Having a negative experience some time ago when I tried to rent a car with them and only had a debit card. Tried to call back, but it was too late could not get in touch with the adjuster ,they changed location but not the company .Since I did not have a debit card they made me filled out some form asking me pretty much for all the numbers from my job in the xxxx including almost everybody in my place of work. I have no choice to filled out the form even knowing I am not suppose to give phone numbers to third parties .(Nowhere else I have rent a car I have go thru this for not having a credit card).Because of that reason I could not rent the car on time and got almost dark .The whole process took me like an hour and a half and because of that delayed I was in a hurry to drop off my own car to be repair before they close
When they kept asking me for documents including prove of insurance, I tried to call insurance company but could not get in touch ,I was tired already of the process. I did not want the car that day because it was to late to do what I was suppose to do I said. They called my (insurance company) for me and told me it was just going to take a couple of minutes. They almost begged me to stay and rent the car. It was almost dark when they took me to see the car. I did a quick go thru and took the rental. On XXXXXXXXX when I returned the car it suddenly had a dent in the passenger side door. It was almost laughable, since it was really hard to notice even in the day light. I asked the representative if I was responsible for the other scratches or dents in the front and back of the car ,which I did not notice either when I rented the car ,she told me not ,those were there, but the hard to notice dent in the passenger side door was not and is considerable damage and since I rented the car I was responsible for it. They of course claim the insurance company which is in affiliation with Enterprises
Even knowing I treated that car like it was mine I asked all people who took rides until the las moment or saw the vehicle if they notice any dent on it they all said the same, they did not notice any dent.
I took all precautions specially after the hit and run I had in my own car a week ago and I am sure that dent did not happen while the car was under my possession. After all the precautions I took, it's just not possiblethe possibilities are zero.I m convinced this is a scam. |

So your INSURANCE company dropped the ball in the first instance which caused Enterprise to require some basic information from you prior to providing you keys to a minimum $12, 000+ rental car? Get real. Cars are stolen every day across the country from Enterprise customers who actually present legitimate documents to rent a car. I understand you walked in with expectations of a paying insurance customer. Enterprise tried to make it right by protecting themselves from someone who obviously wasn't planning ahead (no proof of insurance?). I wouldn't give you my bike. Boohoo!
There is no scam in damaging rental units. In fact there is no plausible reason an employee would do so as the rental unit is now out of comission (no income) for repairs at a bodyshop should the repairs be large enough. This affects "on rent" average as well as managers pay check. Trust me they want these cars clean and in service 24/7. Also the claimed damage is checked against previous contracts by the claims department in the event your "quick go thru in the dark" with the employee inadvertantly caused either of you to miss the damage. In the end you only get billed for what they can prove you are responsible for...hence the contract with your signature, initials, and prior to rental condition. |
