Enterprise direct Fraudulent accusations of car damages. plano, Texas |
6th of Sep, 2011 by User878780 |
My pregnant wife was in an accident and it was the other driver's fault. The other driver's insurance said they would provide a rental car. On August 31, 2011 we picked up the rental and dropped it off September 7, 2011. I took the rental car because I did not feel that the car was safe for my wife. It was a Chevy HHR. Before we inspected the car, the Enterprise agent mentioned that he could not get the rental car washed and he said he would waive the gas cost because of it. When the Enterprise agent and I did the walk-through, his approach was rushed and aloof and I told the representative about all the damages I saw: marks on both front and back bumpers, scratches and dings to the side door and the hood. He didn't write them down. I ask him "Aren't you going to write this down?" and he replied "We know about the damages already on this car so no need to worry." Since he seemed confident about the status of the car, we finished the paperwork. Big mistake. I returned the car on September 7, 2011 and he was not available. The front desk person said she thinks he left and I ask her if I could return the keys to her. She accepted responsibility for the keys and I left the rental in her charge without a closing inspection since the agent was not there and he had mentioned in a voicemail he left on my phone earlier in the day that the rental car had to be returned that day. A half hour after driving away, I get a call from the representative and it all makes sense why he rushed me. He said there was damages to the front of the car. I told him "I told you about this" and he said "No you didn't." He said "What do you know about these damages?" I said "Are you accusing me of something, do I need an attorney?" he said "No." but he was going to file a report anyways. I called the customer service number and made a statement with the corporate office of Enterprise. They said I wont be charged or billed and that that location will be under investigation now. From reading these posts and others I have learned that my new baby boys funds could be drained. This just happened today so lets see what happens. |
