Empire Motors Inc. Fraud via internet, US mail, & Phone El Paso, Texas |

In April of 2007 I found pictures of an exhaust manifold for a 30 Chrysler on Empire Motors web site. After send an e-mail inquiry I ended up talking via phone to a David Johnson at Empire Motors. He told me they had a manifold in stock that would meet my requirements. We negotiated a price of $1250 including shipping. He ask that I send my original intake and exhaust manifolds to match up. I expected to have my new manifold as well as my original equipment within 2 weeks. After a couple of e-mails and phone calls I was told the one in stock was not a match and that since they "took the contract" they would manufacture one for me. They tried to get more money and ask me to find more buyes. I ask for the return of my money and original parts. Four years later and many e-mails and calls and still no returned parts or money. My car is on blocks for four years. I have contacted the BBB, the Texas Attorney General, the US Postal authorities, and the El Paso Police all with no success. |

I got screwed pretty much the same way. Sent my parts (for a Caterpillar tractor) and my money. When I realized they were never going to make the new ones and the money was gone, all I asked for was my original parts back. They said the owned them because they offered to do the job for $1750 rather than $2250. Great logic - since you screwed me out of $500 less than you wanted that constituted buying the parts from me. I talked to the local prosecutor who told me of all the work he did in prosecuting fraudulent businesses in Texasand that he had a whole file on Empire. But alas he is just another government ass.

My 90 year old father is also being scammed by Empire Motors. Empire Motors has had the original exhaust manifold & assorted exhaust pipe fittings plus $1, 000.00 for the last 2 years and has not finished the parts.
He has threatened to keep the parts & stop all work if we don't stop calling & e-mailing him about the work progress.
Apparently the newspaper he runs advertisements in is also owed money.
How many other folks out there, like my father, did business with this guy in good faith and are now getting screwed ?
