EFT at Retro Fitness Deceiving when signing you up Secaucus, New Jersey |

When I signed up for training sessions, I went in July and spoke to Joe and explained that I was going to Miami for Labor Day weekend and would like to tone up for then. He immediately started signing me up, never told me about any special promotions or anything of that matter. He asked how many times a week I wanted the trainer and so I told him and he explained to me that it would be $40 a day for half an hour and that was a "special" from $50 since I was a member of the gym. He quickly went over about what to eat and what goals to set while filling out the form. WHen he was done he asked me to sign and said if I wanted to cancel I would have to put it on paper. I would go there when I would have my appointments without missing a beat. One of the weeks I mistakenly came in at 9am when my appointment was for 8:30am and when I walk in the office my trainer is just laying back on the chair with a piece of paper in hand for me to sign, stating that I acknowledge that I missed an appoinment that I cant get back. I would think that since I am paying $40 for half an hour and I have been there everytime someone would at least pick up the phone and say "hey you are suppose to be here at 8:30am where the heck are you" I mean where is the motivation? I also find out the Retro Fitness in Belleville offers 10 sessions for $249, thats $25 a session, why wasnt I offered that? Well I wrote the letter and took it to the gym and left it for Joe because he was not there. He calls me a few hours later and tells me I have to call corp office and he gives me the number. WHen I call I speak to Ryan and he tells me I have to mail the letter in wait 30 days for process and pay $250 for cancellation. I explain to him the situation and that I was never told there would be a $250 cancellation fee and I asked to speak to a manager. After keeping me on hold for about 3 minutes he says the manager is not in but they will call me. When he calls me, (very arrogant and rude) I explain to him the situation and he wants to offer me free sessions but still has to charge me $250 plus another $160 for the month because the letter wont be processed in time by the time my next month is due. He then tells me how maybe Retro in Bellevile was running a promotion but yet Ryan told me before that they are all the same and run the same promotions and advertisements. SCAM! Funny when I went to give my letter to Joe, both times I went he was never there and the girl at the front makes a statement "Oh he's hardly ever here and when he is he doesnt do anything anyway, I would give you his number but he never picks up so I'll give him the letter and tell him to call you as soon as he gets it" And this is suppose to be the guy in charge of Training? I am the manager at one of the hotels right in the area and I will definately not be recommending this gym to my guests. And if you look on eft-group-in-retrofitness-reviews.measuredup.com you will find more then one complaint against you guys ripping people off not just 2 now. |
