Do not use the
E-470 toll way on the south side of Denver, Colorado. I have been living in
Colorado Springs, Colorado for three years now. My wife and I use the E-470 toll
way to get to the airport due to the convenience of it being on the south side
of Denver. I am in the military and was deploying for an extended period of
time so my wife moved in with her mother who lived in the same neighborhood as
us. We had our mail forwarded to her mother's address and have had no problems
with any other vendor. Recently I have received a Notice of Outstanding
Liability from Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP stating that I owed
$51.10 for unpaid tolls. I asked my wife if she had been receiving any bills
from them to which she responded no (we have paid them in the past while
staying in our house and even then they came months later).
I call the number for Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP listed on the
Notice of Outstanding Liability and ask her about the bill. She told me that we
haven't been paying the bills E-470 has been mailing out. After telling her
that we have received no bills, and that this letter was the first correspondence
that we have received in regards to these charges she said there was nothing
she could do. She also stated that since we are currently staying in my
mother-in-law's house that we weren't properly forwarding our mail. I brought
up the fact that this piece of mail got delivered fine. After becoming
flustered with the situation I told her I would pay the fee but that I was
upset and would no longer use the toll way due to this incident.
She began to gather the information needed to charge me for the bill, at the
end she asked if I would like to pay for the Notice of Outstanding Liability on
my other account as well. I asked her what other account to which she responded
the vehicle had two accounts and I owed an additional $70 in toll fees.
Eventually I told her to charge the card for both accounts. She stated that the
charges might not go through because there system is acting up at the moment
and she would give me a call if she needed to rerun one of the charges. I never
heard back from her.
Today I received another Notice of Outstanding Liability (forwarding addresses
work quite well for those apparently) for $104.10. I immediately became upset
and gave the company a call to find out what the problem was. The lady I got on
the phone stated that I owed $51.10 and she didn't know anything about $104.10.
I again gave her my card information to process the payment and immediately
began looking online to see if other people have had similar problems. I have
never heard of this site before, but it is amazing that there are 7 similar
cases on here. I am a hard working individual who has always paid all my bills
on time, and I maintain a credit rating around 800. Does that sound like
someone who has a problem paying a few dollars in tolls? I will never use the
E-470 toll way again, and do not recommend you do either.
