I filed a complaint with the BBB allready and Duntara responded immediatley, turning acusations against me but didn't mention that I told the sales man I was moving a 10x12 storage unit. I told him the boxes were not counted. He made the estimate. There were 90 boxes. They double tagged many boxes. When I first decided to search the internet, they gave me a choice of room sizes, small studio was 1200 pounds and a large studio was 2000 pound. When Fred say my search, he called immediatly, several times. I told him the size of my storage room and because boxes were heavy, I told him that. Additional charges were to be .33 cents a pound. We agreed. When the movers came, the unload another customers items on to the street and shuffled them in with ours. They set two very heavy boats on our boxes. I made a film and can prove that these movers are not professional. I called Fred immediatley and complained. The desk was in the invoice. So was other items that were to be wrapped. Movers didn't wrap the items or take the desk. They left it at the curb. They knew that we had a 10x12 storage area, but said Dunatara never informed them of this. Yes there was a delay, I will take partial responsibility for that, but not all. We demanded to see a weighing of items from the first. They agreed, but we didn't have the money because the original estimate was so off. We told them that we would have to borrow it. They didn't call back for two weeks nor did they answer phones. I have phone tapes of answering machines answering, many. When the sales man got back to me, he stated that he had gotten the messages and turned them over to the main office of Duntara. They called and told us that the rate swas .50 a pound and sent a new estimate which was quite different from the first one and our contract stated .33 a pound. That left the likttle money that we saved short. They argued with us for several days and sent two more estimates, so high we thought we would loose everything. Thats when we decidied to file a complaint. We sent them a copy of the complaint and and then they decided to abide by the original estimate as a in their words Good Faith. I have many emails also to stand by what I am saying as truth. At one point we requested to go into arbitration to get that setlled, but Duntara requested another $500.00 to do that. We told them from the begining of the despute that if the wait was wrong we would just have to eat it and pay it somehow. When the agreed on a final balance, we made a final loan and everything was delivered. I put in another claim against all the boxes that were crushed by the boats. One of the men that delivered the items for Duntara will testify to that. We filmed that entire move from the weigh station and sent Duntara on picture of the inside of the truck as the men opened the door. Duntara told them that the delivery driver that he was not to open the truck untill we paid them in full. We held up to the bargin and they opened the door, only for us to see many smashed boxes, chairs turned upside down. My piano that we paid an additionl fee of 150 to move destroyed. The men unloading the truck at least one will testify to this. They did a great job of unloading. Plenty of room left in the storage area. We had no more than our estimated shipment of a 10x12 storage room and that destk should of never been left behind. We do have evidence of tampering with boxes and stolen items and boxes being double numbered so that they could inflate the situation. As far as I am concerened, Porter needs to be firered, thats the man that caused all the destruction to our items, is responsible for the theft of our items and put our desk at the curb. Duntara is responsible for not training their worker as stated on the internet site and not working with customers as they should. |
