DS Waters of America Crystal Springs Dishonest billing practices Atlanta, Georgia |

This company is very dishonest in their business practices. We used their water delivery service in our office. We had our own cooler. They didn't send a bill for a couple of months. Didn't catch it right away. Then we started getting collections calls. We never got a notice of a late bill or a bill for that matter. The company had waited long enough to accumulate late fees etc so they could send to collections, over $100 that would have been $30 if charged correctly for the 2 months. Even the collection company said that is something they do because they don't make enough money in water delivery sales. Tried several times to talk to the manager had to talk to the corporate "customer service". No one ever returned our calls. We cancelled our service with them. Be wary of this company! |

I have seen many complaints about this company, and have the same complaint myself. It seems that they scam people by charging a $100 termination fee for cancelling service, even if you never signed such a contract, and I was even told, that it was for one year, and even though I had service for over one year, I was being charged anyway. I cancelled service and my final bill was about $130. About one month later, I receive a letter from a collection agency, stating I owe $330 on the principal, plus a small late fee, plus a collections cost, for a total due of $393 on a $130 bill!!! When I called DS Waters to complain, the person in their collections/credit department could not give me a straight answer. I asked her to explain how a $130 bill got padded up to $393 and at first she told me, well, no, you don't owe the $100 so, you just owe the $130 plus the collection fee, so, around $190, but then she tried to tell me I owed a "clean out" fee of $35 so, I actually owe around $225. NONE of these charges were on my final bill, and I NEVER signed a year contract. This company is seriously ripping people off and I am going to report them to the California Attorney General's office. |
