DrText Premium Text Messaging Service , Internet |
14th of Jul, 2011 by User746150 |
This company is some sort of "Premium Text Messaging" service that solicits through unwanted text messages. They sent me a couple text messages and each time I deleted them as spam. I received a charge today on my Verizon bill for $9.99 for premium text messaging. It appears they have some sort of scam going where it is likely they are billing 9.99 a month for some sort of rediculous text messages. I went to their web site and they claim they will stop billing immediately if you opt out but if you have already gotten your bill they will charge you "just one more time." If an unsuspecting person does not catch this charge right away, they can potentially be billed 9.99 at least twice. They charged my bill on June 26th at 1:40 in the morning and it is now July 14th and I have not received anything in the way of services that would have made me think I was receiving a paid service. This tactic would likely lead them to the "initial" and "just one more time" billing. Clearly no one would pay 9.99 a month for that. I will be reporting this to Verizon tomorrow but other who get a DrText text message should watch their bill for unauthorized charges. |

I recently got three text messages from them providing tips on using your Android phone. Verizon had me reply to stop sending these messages. I today I found out they charged me $9.99 for a service I never subscribed to. Verizon removed that charge and put a block on my phone to prevent any future charges. I have tried to find a business address on these criminals so a complaint can be filed with the BBB and AG office. |

I have t-mobile service. I did get 9.99 charge on my bill from DrtextLLC which i never subscribed. I called customer care to find out what it is. They said it was a third party charge and they would try to get rid of the charges but it would take 30 days to do it and in meanwhile i should go ahead and pay the entire bill. They would adjust my 9.99 in next bill. What a scam. Guys watch out and if you see these charges on your bill call customer care right away. your cell phone service carrier can help to remove these charges. |

The same thing happened to me! Have you seen their crappy website? Definitely off-shore scammers. I think I accidentally clicked on something while installing a free app that got me in this mess, but immediately followed up on it. The first bitch I spoke to at T-Mobile said she took the charge off, and then got me to sign up for some stupid $5 a month service with them! Watch out or you will be nickeled and dimed to death. |

They have their bases covered with a bunch of mumbo-jumbo claptrap fine print that you agree to when you accidentally click on an ad that pop-up when you run a free app on your phone. BEWARE OF FREE APPS. Their customer service is a call center in Manila where they just read from a script and don't listen to a word you say. They bank on you losing interest for $9.99. Be aware, you will NEVER get refunded. Just bite the bullet, pay it and learn your lesson. I have now deleted every free, useless app from my Android phone. I will keep an eye on these people and look for any class action law suits I can join. PS, check out the awful website at drtext.com |
