With the job market already as difficult as it is the promise of guaranteed pay at "one of the fastest growing marketing/advertising companies" will always be spark a unemployed person's interest. DKL Marketing uses this tactic to lure in potential job seekers into working for their company.
After specifically applying for an office admin position with this company I was called for an interview the next day. The HR Manager, Becky Valencia, confirmed that this position was for an office administrative postion in a new office they were opening with guaranteed pay. Eager to get back in the work force I cleared my schedule to meet with this potential employer.
I had read up a little bit about DKL Marketing in a couple of forums and saw that several people had commented that they were a multi level markeing company that preys on eager college graduates to join their sales team. Thinking I was going in for an admin position I did not worry to much since sales was not what I was looking for. There was though, a comment posted that one person went in for an admin position for their new location but after arriving to the interview was set up to interview with one of their managers, Dewayne who in turn spoke nothing about an admin postion but was talking about them joining their sales/"marketing" team.
This is exactly what happens when interview with DKL Marketing. I walked into an interview for an admin position but spoke with this same person Dewayne who didn't talk to me about any admin position but was trying to see if i wanted to join their sales/"marketing" team which sets up booths at retail stores to sell Directtv systems. After listening to Dewayne for about 10 minutes I told him that I was not here for a sales position but that I had applied for an administrative position. He simply replied that they had already hired 2 admin people earlier and that they only had sales positions available.
This company does do legitimate business if you consider multi level marketing legitimate but seeing that the HR Manager did not contact me beforehand about there not being an admin position available anymore and reading that the same situation occured to another individual it seems that this company has very misleading practices on how it conducts business.
If a company treats its potential employees this way then it is only safe to believe that this company most likely treats its consumers the same way. If multi level marketing and misleading people is how you want to earn a living then DKL Marketing is probably a good fit for you. For everyone else please proceed with caution when dealing with DKL especially if you are in the process of interviewing with them for a potential job. This company seems to be more than willing to waste your time and prey upon the eager and unemployed by misleading them with false information. |
