Disney Theatrical Group Ticketmaster, Brian Dockett Disney refused to work with me over $940 worth of Broadway tickets, New York, New York |

I'm posting this warning about Disney and Ticketmaster after just receiving notice that my credit card dispute was unsuccessful this week. I and my family made the RESPONSIBLE decision not to attend our annual family scheduled Broadway event in NYC on December 26, 2010 due to the NE blizzard of 2010. This snow storm brought in excess of 24 inches of snow to the area, which resulted in 4 State of emergencies (CT, NY, NJ and PA), suspended public transportation in NYC and even a PHI NFL football game was postponed the following day. Yes the show went on, but ironically if we had gone down to see the show from CT, by the time we would have gotten out of the show (~6pm), all public trains had been stopped and we would have been stuck in NYC for an additional 24-48 hours or even potentially worse, stuck on the side of the road or in a car accident. I tried to contact Ticketmaster on the day of the show and they quickly threw their policy in my face, stating no refunds and that I'd need to contact Disney. I then called Disney and was put on hold for nearly 2 hours with no assistance either (they must have been trying to determine if they should cancel the show or not). And I actually didn't get any response from any company until I posted a "1 star" review on Ticketmaster.com (which is no longer posted on TM.com) A week later, I received an email back from Bryan Dockett and Brittany Dobbs (Disney's VPs of national sales) and I returned two emails discussing options and possibilities of refund or reschedule. I never heard from them again and that's when I enacted up my credit card company's dispute process. Now it's June am I'm finding out that my CC dispute was unsuccessful and I'm still out the $940 for a Disney show that I never saw. Disney prides themselves on a family company that provides entertainment for our families but at the end of the day they are ultimately just another greedy company that only cares about making money, no matter how they scam the consumer. Bottom line is that I'm filled with huge disappointment in Disney and their affiliates as to how they handled this situation. I have been a longtime consumer of their product and this just puts a real bad taste in my mouth for any future purchases or trips that involve the Disney company. |
