I ordered the introductory offer free for $4.99 shipping and handling. Not pleased but did not return it because it was "only $4.99".The directecig then made an additional charge on my debit card of $109.90. On 1/3/11 I rec'ed the Intro offer first shipment with the charge of $99.95 with $9.95 shipping and handling.
I started calling to stop any additional shipments and to return this first shipment. To my surprise when I called, my call was answered by a machine and I was placed on hold endless minutes then the call "disconnected" andended. I never spoke with anyone. After multiple calls I stopped calling and just accepted defeat and accepted this as a lesson learned. I thought this was the end, however....
Today 2/5/11,I am balancing my bank statement and to my surprise I have another deduction in the amount of $69.90. I started calling the "company"(I use this term lightly) tostop this deduction and get a refund because I have not received another package. Again, the same as before. Phone is answered promply by a machine and again, placed on hold then disconnected.
I could not give up this time.I can't afford $69.90 charge for nothing. I have NOT receivedanything since 1/3/11 from this company. This has to stop!! I continued to calland finally (could not believe) Ispoke with a a woman named Lori. Well that was my treat for the day. She quickly told me in the introductory order.. I had signed for andagreed to monthly shipments and authorized deductions monthly for $69.90. She also advisednothing recieved or shipped could be stopped, returned or refunded and the $69.90 was for the latest shipment.
Itried to explain I have not received any additional shipments and had tried multiple times to call them unsuccessfully. She quickly informed me they are extremely busy and if I could not hold on until my call was answered there was nothing she could do. She also advised me the February shipment had been sent and I could not return it, because I had not cancelled in time to stop the shipment for which I had agreed when I ordered the $4.99 intro offer.I expressed my dissatisfication with the product , the company and their "business" manner and false/fraud advertising. She assured me they are not "frauds" and it is "written in the contract" which by clicking I had in fact "signed"and agreed to.
I was able to tell her I want this cancelled immediately with no additional charges to my account. Iadvised her that I had sentan e-mailto my bank informing them to not accept and/or authorize any additional payments to their company. Lori did advise that she was cancellinganyadditional shipments and that I would receive a confirmation email before she hung up on me. I have not received the email as of this report.
This is a very misleading ad and they will quickly make deductions from you account.I have sent a message to my bank requesting noadditional paymentsbe made to this "company". Hopefully my $184.79 lesson learned and this scam report will help someone else not make the same mistake.
