Direct Energy is a total joke of a company in the state of Ohio. They sell what seems to be a decent product to start, giving a discounted rate for a short-term (percentage off the utility.) Or worse, they will even convince you that you should lock in your Natural Gas rate higher than it was before. THe company is a total scam. After 6-12 months in the program with Direct Energy your bills will sky-rocket after you are done with your initial term ($.55 per CCF to .$79.) The concept is for them to sign as many people as they can based on what seems like a reasonable decision when you start. The worst part is how Direct Energy sells. They hire marketing companies like Rich Riley's EGC Ltd. to fake represent Direct Energy, and ruin the independent contractors names that actually do all the sales. The avg. life of a sales rep is about 1 month. EGC Ltd. does pay their guys accurately and on time, but it is all just a plan to get them to last as long as they can and then they burn and churn in another person with the hope and dream of "becoming a manager." If you are looking into Direct Energy or EGC LTd. or Rich Riley, run the other way. I am a business owner and would recommend a company called Ohio Energy Program out of Dayton, Ohio. They helped by business with deregulation actually save money with a long-term solution and energy saving program. Good service, reasonably nice people. |

Please Beware of this company and it's leaders. Unfortunately, everything this individual had to say is true and more. The goal of the company is to get "quality" individuals to hire and retain as energy consultants... Each one of these individuals are talked to daily as a group and individually to give the fake illusion of a support system. The main goal is to get the "guys "out the door and to MAKE MONEY!!! They hire almost anyone and retain the few people they are able to manipulate enough to stay...I believe in the client Direct Energy because deregulation enables the customer to choose... That being said sometimes it's a help and sometimes it simply is not. BUT that is sales and we the consumer ask for more choices. In this particular situation we must choose wisely and more importantly educate ourselves. The issue is... Keeping the few people they can keep there the wrong ways, they keep dependent people dependent on this company. so we the consumer get the indifferent service at the door. When I see a problem like this I look to the leaders of the company and what their motives are. As for Rich Riley I have been around this particular industry for years and have not "heard "many good things...Assuming I believe everything I hear. |
