Diane Bowen AKA Cellar Door Studio Legal judgment rendered against Diane Bowen and Cellar Door Studio Los Angeles, California
1st of Jan, 2012 by User876995
Let me preface this by saying that my wife works with severely disabled children. She works extremely hard and does everything she possibly can to make their lives better. Sadly my wife took her very hard earned money and entered into Cellar Door Studio at W. 18th Street in Los Angeles on January 22, 2011. There she met the smooth talking con artist, (now well known thief) Ms. Diane Bowen who then proceeded to do, what she has done to so many others, con her out of her hard
earned money by making an empty promises. In my wife’s case it was that Cellar Door Studio would make her a beautiful dining room table. Then Ms. Bowen told her my wife that she needed a down payment of $1,710 to begin building her that “beautiful dining room table.” When my wife reached for her credit card, Ms. Diane Bowen said that she didn’t take credit cards (a warning to all who are reading this – every legitimate business takes credit cards). Instead she had my trusting wife make out a check to (not Cellar Door Studio) but “L. Stein” which she falsely claimed was their corporate entity. Thus began an endless pattern of lies upon lies by Diane Bowen. Months passed and no table – just “give us another week or we couldn’t pay for the inventory this week, etc.” When Ms. Bowen realized that I, her husband, was beyond angry and that we had friends in both the D.A.’s office and the L.A. County Sheriff’s Office, Diane Bowen promised a full refund. Of course, it never ever was given. All I got from her e-mails were endless lies. Once when I showed up at her business for the ever elusive promised cashier check (which of course, she didn’t have) and she said that she was offended that I screamed at her (typical criminal mind = always blame the victim or in this case the victim’s husband). We finally took Ms. Bowen and Cellar Door Studio to Small Claims Court on July 29, 2011 (Small Claims Case No. LAM 11M05838). The Judge looked at the e-mail correspondence between us and Ms. Bowen and saw in two seconds her endless lies and empty promises. He ruled in our favor stating that Ms. Bowen DBA Cellar Door Studio owes us $1,710 principal and $85 costs in plaintiffs claim. Despite the court judgment Ms. Bowen refuses to pay so we are now engaged with an attorney who is presently putting a lien on her business. The bottom line – Cellar Door Studio and Ms. Diane Bowen have had their day in court and lost. They still haven’t paid. I look forward to her closing her business. My friends in law enforcement have been great = Diane Bowen is no different than crimnal who robs a bank or a business of $1,710. This time she stole from a woman who works with disabled children.
